March 2011 — "Brown’s Social House located on the Corner of Douglas and Burdett is a newer club to Victoria. We just moved to Victoria and every time we walked by the Club we noticed how busy they were. They have music playing outside to catch your attention.
The atmosphere is nice and feels a little more modern than Earls or Moxie’s, but still with it’s own unique style. I like that there is only a few TV’s and the focus is on being social with a group of friends.
We went for drinks during a hockey game, my friend and I both were wanting Margarita’s and to our surprise they were on special that evening. The drinks had a power taste to them like it was from a mix which was disappointing, but we still had a good time and next time we’ll stick with a beer to enjoy the downtown social atmosphere.

August 2010 — "There are drink specials each day and both my husband and I got them for today (Tuesday). Lager for $4.95 and Bellini for $4.50. I loved the Bellini and wouldn't hesitate to order a second! It comes with a gummi candy wedged on the rim of the glass which is cute.
I ordered the Tahitian Albacore Tuna, and had some kind of brown sauce. Wow, it was delicious!!! The rice on the side was flavoured with garlic and was somewhat sticky, which was really good too. This would have to be one of the best dishes I've ever had. My husband had the bbq chicken pizza. He said he liked it but wasn't anything special. "

August 2010 — "The menu selection is a little on the skim side, but the quality you get is very good for the price. We went for brunch and you get may, 10 things to choose from (it's one page from their menu).
I ordered the veggie benny and although it was good, it looked much different than a typical benny from other breakfast places. It looks like they improvised with food that's normally served for lunch/dinner. The bread part, instead of a biscuit or english muffin, they used a pizza crust. For the side of "breakfast potatoes", which I'm used to seeing as wedges or squares, and roasted looking, were french fries cut in half. The fruit on the side consisted of two orange wedges and 3 grapes."

June 2010 — "This restaurant opened up just a few months ago I believe, and I give it the thumbs up. As expected, it has a very Cactus Club or Earl's look and feel to it. It is well decorated, and has a great location downtown, just a block down from the Sticky Wicket on Douglas. I had a classic burger and beer with fries and was happy with the meal. The menu seemed pretty good, with some interesting options to try next time. The meals seem to be well thought out, with great ingredients and flavors. Our server was also a pretty good down to earth guy. This is sometimes something that can not be said about Cactus Club or Earls, I'll leave it at that.
We sat on the patio which was great, but be warned that it doesn't get the sun until about 230. They are however prepared for this with blankets at each table. There is also some nice outdoor patio couches that has a large table with gas fire pit in the middle which is a nice addition and would no doubt be cool at night.
We will certainly try this place again for a drink and a bite next time we have the chance."

May 2010 — "Newly Opened, is a restaurant located in the bottom of ‘The Falls’ apartment building located at the corner of Burdette and Douglas, it is a Franchise named “Brown’s Social House” and I was very pleased. I had not heard any reviews from the restaurant; however it looked like a really nice place to try. It is modern and funky, not fine dining. My husband and I went for lunch on a Friday afternoon; we got a great table out on the patio that overlooks Douglas st. It was a little shady out, and I was worried that I would be cold, however to my surprise, there were personal fleece blankets located at ever table on the patio. It was great, we were able to watch the people, get the fresh air, and still be nice and cozy! There was also a outdoor fire-pit and couches that were available for guests to enjoy. The menu looked good, a lot of burgers, sandwiches and salads. I ordered the ‘Almost Famous Blackened Fish Sandwich’ and the ‘Cowgirl salad’. I can say enough good things about them! The salad was so good, I ate the whole thing before barely touching the sandwich. It was filled with fresh mixed lettuce, edamame beans, corn, cabbage, dates, walnuts etc...and was topped with a delicious Miso dressing, I really loved it. And the sandwich was GREAT! it was somewhat spicy soft cooked Halibut, served on a fresh baked bun, with a creamy smooth sauce. It was very big, and I couldn’t finish the whole thing, but I would certainly get it again. The presentation was great too, when we got our meals, the sandwiches and the burger were both served half in side of a ‘envelope’ it reminded me of the 50’s and I really liked it, it was something that I had never seen at a restaurant before. The service was great, and fast. We had lots of laughs with our waiter, and he was happy to answer any of the questions that we had about the new restaurant. Oh and the drinks were good too, I had a belini, which was served with a fuzzy peach, it was great, however, they don’t have a great bottled beer selection, we were told that because it is franchise that they tried to keep it simple. There were lots of tap beers to choose from though. Great Value for the money - didn’t see the bathrooms.
I will most certainly be back, actually I can’t wait to go back..

Located downtown, this restaurant attracts a steady crowd all times of the day. An upscale casual decor the atmosphere is lively and energetic. Important focus has been paid to their menu as well. Regularly updated, it may feature items like Tahitian albacore tuna and fire roasted tomato linguine. Burgers, pastas and salads are also served. They are open for brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 2pm.
