June 2011 — "I've been here twice and cannot see myself going back. The first time, I had some rice vermicelli with spring rolls, and felt slightly ill shortly after. The second time, I ordered the spicy beef soup, and found myself pulling out bits of grizzly meat and other bits and pieces. "

May 2010 — "I was in Thailand on vacation several years ago now, and have since had a void in my life where there once was noodle soup from street vendors. I am very much aware of the difference between Thailand and Vietnam, and this restaurant has filled the void. This little place is fairly new, and is located beside noodle box on Fisgard, half a block up from Chinatown. I noticed it when walking with my wife and daughter during the day, and couldn't stop thinking about it. I later had dinner, waited a few hours then went down to get take-out. The take out orders are very well orchestrated. You get a big styro of hot soup broth, then another with noodles and very thinly sliced raw beef. You also take the traditional bean sprouts, basil, chili, lime and sauces in another bag. (Sadly enough, this take out is not enviro friendly with all that styrofoam, but I couldn't let it get me down) You then get home (where the broth is still plenty hot) and add your noodles and beef, where the beef cooks in the hot broth. You then have your fresh veggies and spice to add as necessary. I really was in paradise, and may just make this a weekly treat. I am getting a bit excited even now writing this review... how can I find a reason to be downtown around dinner?..."

Pho Vuong specializes in hot noodle soups. Open for lunch and dinner, most entrees are under ten dollars. Dine or take out, dishes include chicken and vegetables on rice, grilled pork on vermicelli and a variety of pho soups. Each soup is served with a healthy serving of bean sprouts, basil and lime wedge. They also feature karaoke nights.
