September 2010 — "A friend and I were meeting for lunch downtown one day and decided to try out the Local 522 Tavern. I had recently eaten at the Local 002 Tavern and thought it'd be nice to try this other location for lunch. When we arrived, probably about 11:45, it was packed. And I mean PACKED. We got the last two seats - at the bar, with the beer taps in our faces. The bartender was offering us drinks and menus right away, which was surprising given how hectic the lunch rush was at this particular establishment. Our drinks arrived in front of us promptly and the bartender was very friendly when we joked that we were close enough to the taps to pour our own refills. I ordered the veggie flatbread and my friend ordered the burger. Our food arrived quite quickly and the flatbread was delicious. The portion was large and I was able to enjoy leftovers for dinner. My friend's burger looked good and he enjoyed it. Despite the hectic lunch atmosphere, we were able to have a good lunch and a good chat without taking too long. I will definitely go back for lunch sometime, but I will show up much earlier!"
