April 2010 — "After having such a memorable evening at the Applebee's in Sacramento, CA the previous week, we hoped to duplicate the experience at this location. We arrived at the restaurant around 7pm and found it to be relatively busy. Again, the same decor as we believe is in all the Applebee's. We were seated quickly, given a choice of tables. This is a family restaurant chain with various levels of seating. The restaurant also does various specials throughout the week, including appetizer specials. Our waitress brought our menu's immediately and took our drink order. When our waitress returned with our drinks she almost insisted we order our meals. We like to relax when we go for dinner and do not like to feel rushed. We finally told her to bring us a ceasar salad, we would share, as we had not decided on our main courses. The salad appeared minutes later, and again she wanted our orders. We decided to order the same meals we had enjoyed so much in Sacramento, delectable onion rings and the sirloin 7oz steak with baked potato. The caesar salad was small but very flavourful. I was disappointed this restaurant did not show the calorie content, saturated fat content, carbs and sodium content of every item the restaurant serves, as had been in Sacramento. Having that detail is worth a return. Our onion rings arrived, a little over cooked, with a delightful Big and Bold BBQ sauce for dipping. The rings were OK, nothing like we were expecting. Before we had finished our appetizer, our meals arrived. The experience was not stacking up to be a good one. The meals were very good, properly prepared and the vegetables plentiful and not overcooked. But, once again our waitress presented the bill before we had finished our meal, assuming we would not want dessert, or anything else! She was wrong, again! She reluctantly took the bill, and returned when we had finished our meals. We ordered dessert, an amazing triple chocolate meltdown to share; chocolate cake with a warm, dark liquid center and dark melted chocolate drizzled over the top of the dome shaped dessert. Accompanying the cake was a scoop of vanilla ice cream with dark chocolate running over it. Decadent is a kind word for this concoction, we loved it. A real treat. It's too bad the server was so pushy, as the meal was good, 2 entree's and an appetizer to share for $20.00, its hard to beat. The beer is cold and for 23oz, the charge is $5.29. A cheap dinner out."
