May 2011 — "This place is in a building that has housed a few different restaurants/pubs that couldn't stand the test of time but I think there is a winning formula here. The downfall is parking but fortunately for me, I work very close so lunch is a breeze. This place has a nice contemporary Canadian feel with dark hardwood, rock and wood walls, and a long slender restaurant with lots of natural light. The beer selection is second to none with one of my favorite beers brewed in Edmontong but found at very few pubs. Alley Kat Brewery makes Aprikat Wheat Ale which has a nice apricot flavour that isn't sweet but goes very nice with the wheatiness for only $5.95. The menu has some Peruvian flare with items such as a the Street Fighter Burger but also comes with nostalgic items such as the turkey sandwich called the Gobbler with real turkey, not processed crap. I decided to go with the Blackened Salmon which was beautifully spicy and topped with a nice jalapeno cream sauce. It also came with steamed veggies and a mashed potatoes that had some secret hint of something like blue cheese. It was a little pricey at $17.95 but overall a very nice piece of moist salmon grilled to perfection. The service was great, food terrific, beer even better and the bathrooms were even nice and clean. Grab a date or a casual buddy and enjoy the atmosphere. There are TV's for sportslovers as well."
