April 2012 — "Brazilian restaurants always seem to provide an excellent meal and an entertaining evening. I seem to visit one only about once a year. My Brazilian visit for 2012 was to Bolero's. Dining with a friend, I chose the $40 set menu. The salad bar included much more than salads. Offering coconut rice, mashed potatoes, and various stews, I mixed some stew and rice. The stew was not my favorite as it contained too many black beans, but I did like the marinated asparagus and zucchini also available on the salad bar. The 'gauchos' were very friendly, and our waiter even gave us a free sample of red wine. The meat skewers were excellent. All the meats were tender and juicy, especially the roasted chicken. The meats are not especially tangy but two sauces, one mild and one spicy, are provided for dipping. The skewered garlic bread was amazing! I could have filled up just on the bread! I might not go back but I do recommend Bolero's for anyone who has not gone."

March 2012 — "I had the lunch buffet. The whipped cream was good (that I had with my waffles) plus one of the desserts. Mostly everything else was not that great. The servers come around and give you small portions of a variety of meat, but the meat was bland and a touch on the dry and tough side. There was caramelized pineapple that was liked by others in my party, but I wasn't that thrilled about it even though it was fine. It's not worth going to, but my sister liked her previous dinner experience there. "

March 2012 — "I went to Bolero with a friend to sample their traditional Brazilian fare. My dining partner ordered the Full Rodizio but I knew that would be way too much meat for me. I opted instead for the Fresco Bar for $20. Bolero's salad bar is no ordinary salad bar. It's filled with high quality salads and lots of grilled or sautéed vegetables. There's also lots of great cheeses and delicious mashed potatoes. They must be loaded with butter because there were the creamiest I have ever had. The salad bar was all-you-can-eat so I don't know how people can eat the meat skewers and sample everything on the salad bar. The servers make dining at Bolero an enjoyable and memorable experience. They were so exhurberent with their actions and expressions. They were also very attentive and quick into action. I recommend Bolero's to anyone looking for a unique experience in Calgary."
