January 2011 — "Santiago's is in downtown Victoria on Oswego Street not far from the Parliament Buildings. It is easy to find and there is parking on the street which is free after 6:00 p.m. We were there on a Wednesday evening and were the only people there so we were able to pick a booth and make ourselves comfortable. There was no reason for us to rush so we ordered drinks first - Lime Margaritas on ice. The decor is very colorful and it felt like we were sitting in a restaurant in Mexico. There was a lot to choose from on the menu and it was not all Mexican but we decided to try this restaurant because we were told that they served authentic Mexican food. I ordered a quesadilla and my friend had an enchilada. I was not really impressed with my dinner. There wasn't much too it. My friend loved her dinner and highly recommended it. Overall, I wouldn't go back. The food was average, the cost was above average, the service was okay but not the greatest (and don't forget we were the only customers!). There has to be other places in Victoria for Mexican food. "

March 2010 — "When in doubt, we tend to bring people here for lunch. It's cheap, it's Mexican, it's fun. It's charmingly colourful. There are crayons so you can draw on the placemats, which is great because Victoria seems to be strangely lacking in kid-friendly restaurants.
I enjoy the burrito, and I have to be honest; the veggie burger is one of the tastiest I have ever had, between the jalapeno relish and the cashew-curry patty. It was a bit dry, so it fell apart; it broke in half causing much of it to actually fall on the floor, which was very sad.
I also like that they give you chips and salsa for your side, instead of french fires. The chips are nice and salty, and the salsa is darned good too."

Spicy Latin favorites are served at this casual Mexican cafe. Its central location ensures a busy atmosphere. From sangria to nachos, the menu is varied with the mussels being a specialty.
