February 2012 — "We decided to try this place out and venturing into more hole in the walls. My husband and our friends were seated very quickly. The menu was quite interesting and seemed like a good variety. Everyone opted for the Vietnamese noodles and broth whereas I decided to order the rice dish with charboiled pork. Unfortunately, it took over 20 minutes for the food to be served. Typically for noodles, it is quite quick so we were a bit surprised at how long it took. Everyone else didn’t seem too happy about their meal but I was quite satisfied. My pork was very soft and very flavorful. I was really happy with the food. The portion wasn’t use but that’s okay with me since I don’t normally eat that much and I get pretty full quickly. The prices were pretty average with it being just under $10. I would go back for my dish, based on everyone’s reaction, I probably won’t get the noodles."

May 2011 — "Vietnamese Restaurants aren't that hard to find, but decent ones for the price of what you get, Pho Huong Viet in the Crowfoot Area on Ranchlands Blvd NW. At first glance, it seems like the restaurant was a hit and miss. The outside doesn't look very welcoming, but once you step inside the restaurant, it was such a shock. There is such a great atmosphere and Vietnamese themed restaurant that was more than welcoming. Like my brother says, it's cheaper than a lot of places and the portions are pretty big as well. I don't think I can complain about anything. We started with the shrimp salad rolls. The proportions were perfect bite sized. I enjoyed my Vermicelli and spring rolls. Pretty good. The spring rolls were really crunchy and the filling was very flavourful. If ever I was around the area, I will probably go and give their Satay a try as well. I haven't tried their noodle soups, but my brother made it look pretty appetizing.

March 2011 — "Phot Huong Viet is located in an obscure corner of the Crowfoot area, tucked away in a little mall. Most of their dishes are under $10 and the menu includes everything you would expect from a Vietnamese restaurant. They have a particularly good selection of vegetarian dishes. The decor is warm colours and nice tables, with a little bar at the back. The place is clean and inviting and very very busy. The space is small and somewhat cramped - where we sat at the back there were people in chairs almost at our table waiting for pick-up. But, everyone was pleasant and happy so it wasn't too uncomfortable. I would say this restaurant is a step-up from most of the restaurants in Calgary and (although I'm not germ phobic) it is definitely much cleaner than most. I chose the Mi Xao Sate Tofu Chay with veggies, tofu, lemon grass and egg noodles...it was very tasty and incredibly filling.

March 2011 — "We stumbled across Pho Huong Viet Noodle House by accident and we almost didn't stay because there was a line up to get inside. It smelled so good that we decided to wait it out. It only took about 5 minutes to seat us. First of all, most of the menu items are less than $10 and there are lots of plates to choose from. While waiting in line I was marveling and drooling at the dishes I could see other people eating. I ended up ordering C3, Stir fired Curry Seafood topped with veggies and served with steamed rice. The seafood was Shrimps and artificial crab. The meal was huge and so good! I kept thinking, I am so glad I am here eating this food. Without a doubt, it is the best Vietnamese food I have eaten and I eat Vietnamese a lot. The servers were very nice and delivered excellent service. Finally, they poured me about 8 oz of red wine for $4.50. I don't know what brand it was but it was quite drinkable. I can't say enough about this place. You've got to go! "

March 2010 — "This is a new Vitemase restaurant that recently opened up in our neighborhood. I am not sure how long it has been opened, but we stumbled upon it about a month ago....and ever since then we can't seem to stop going!
My wife has been trying to get me to try one of these vitemase subs now for quite some time and to tell you the truth, I couldn't see what all of the fuss was about. Well, that was until I tried it.
Vitemase subs...where have you been all my life? I had the BBQ pork sub. They are served on a crispy loaf of bread with onions, pickled carrots, cilantro and hot peppers.
We also ordered a side of spring rolls to share. This was also a first for me. I had never had a vitemase spring roll. So good!
The service was quick and polite. I will defiantly be back!

Focusing on Vietamese cuisine, expect dishes like beef sate soup and other pho options. They offer a casual environment that is family friendly.
