August 2011 — "I went with some old friends to Murdoch's on a Thursday night for their wings. The wings are $0.25 each and are a great deal because they are the biggest chicken wings I have ever seen! They also have two pool tables, both of which are pretty good quality and are tucked away in the back away from the rest of the pub. They had pints of Keith's for $4.99 and the beer was great! The coolest thing happened though while we were all playing pool! The bartender came over and said the owner had spotted us and that he had never seen us before so he wanted to thank us for coming out by sending over 4 shots of Jagermeister! It was a really nice gesture. That has never happened to me in any pub in Calgary. Great neighborhood pub to grab a bite and play some pool. We will be back! "

November 2010 — "Murdoch's in a local pub in the SW of Calgary. If I need a place to go with friends or just to chill out and play some pool and have a beer, I always go to Murdoch's. They have food/drink specials every night, and even good ones on weekends.
The also have Wildrose Wrasperry Ale on tap which is something that not very many pubs carry. It is an awesome beer and I would definitely recommend it. They have a very large appetizer menu with something on it for everyone. My favorite is the Artichoke dip. It is is just delightful. One of the best Ive ever had, other than what my mom can make! Coming in second is the crab dip, which is the cheesiest thing Ive ever seen. If you like your hot dips then I would say this is the place to be! They do make mean nachos, and wings of course. I would stay away from ordering a side salad with any burger or sandwich ect. I had a ceasar once, and it was soggy, overdressed, and terrible. Just a warning!
If you're looking for a nice place to warm up in the winter, with some hot wings and a game of pool...or a nice patio, in the summer to cool down with a cold beer. Then try Murdoch's! Great lil local pub. "

September 2010 — "Thank goodness I play pool, or I may never have found one of Calgary's best kept burger secrets. I had to come here to play pool a couple of weeks ago, and the place is so far away from where I live I decided to just head there right after work.
Luckily this meant I’d be eating dinner there, and as such I ordered their loaded burger with fries. The burger had to of contained a pound of hamburger. Seriously, there was some serious heft to the thing. And the fact it was loaded up with some good cheddar and bacon, not to mention some great fries on the side made for a great meal.
The place itself was great for someone that plays pool. The tables are away from the main pub, with lots of room to play around and a number of tv screens, so you never have to look far to get the latest hockey scores.
If it weren’t so far from where I live, I’d definitely be coming here more often. Thankfully, I have another match here in the coming months, so I’ll get to experience the burger again.
