February 2010 — "Wow, we ended up at Spoons by accident; we are never really in this part of Victoria. Am I ever glad that we went! It has the cutest atmosphere; a classy, colourful diner with old movie posters on the wall. They were going for 'greasy spoon', I assume, but it's way too clean for that!! All of their mugs are unique thrift store finds; cool! All of the menu items have cute names too. Wow, we were so charmed by this place! My husband had granola (good), and I had the 'Got to be Different Hash', which was basically my dream breakfast; tons of excellent cheese, green onions, peppers, and tofu over top really amazing hash browns. I am currently working on another excuse to get up there so that I can have the has again!"

Spoons is a sleek diner with an unpretentious atmosphere and a fun menu. Find concoctions with creative names like the Burnside birdsnest (featuring two fried eggs nested in grilled toast) and Hippieville (homemade granola). There is also an array of egg Bennies and omelettes. In addition, they are open for lunch serving burgers, sandwiches and salads. Find them located within the Super 8 on Douglas Street just off Burnside.
