December 2010 — "Having dinner with my sisters family, we decided on some East Indian. Surahi was centrally located to where we were at the time, so we decided to have dinner there. Upon entering we were warmly greeted by a friendly and smiling face. We were soon seated and presented with the plentiful menu. Not being a knowledgeable critic of east indian food, we asked the server to present us with some ideas. We ended up ordering a variety of dished involving beef, lamb, chicken along with the nan bread. When the food arrived, it was obvious that it was freshly made. The inviting smells from each of the dishes did make my mouth water. Being one to love sauces, I was in heaven seeing all of my favorite meats drowned in different sauces. The nan bread was also a real treat to get to dip into each of the sauces. I thoroughly enjoyed the Butter Chicken. Also, the Lamb Roganjosh was also one of my favorites which had a little extra kick of spice to it, but not too much to make my taste buds shy away. We also had some form of coconut rice which was not exactly what I had expected. I guess I was anticipating something more similar to a Thai style coconut rice, but this was a little bit different. I did enjoy it, but I do have to say that I prefer the Thai style. We all enjoyed our dinners and the warm and friendly staff at Surahi. If I am in the mood for some East Indian, this restaurant would definitely be on my list."
