June 2011 — "This is one of my favorite “fast food” Korean places although this doesn’t taste like your average greasy fast food. The food comes fast but I feel like I get the same food that I would be getting at a nice Korean restaurant. I have been to two locations, one downtown and one at Northhill mall. The one time I went to the Koryo in North hill Mall, the food tasted like it was under the heating lamps for awhile, a little bit dry. However, recently I went to the one downtown and the meal was amazing. The price for the food is under ten dollars and you get a whole meal that will fill you up for lunch. The best part is that you have a variety of choices to choose from. I chose a meal that included beef, broccoli as a side so I got some vegetables in my diet and vermicelli noodles. You can also have rice as a side as well. I really enjoyed the food here and the price is great considering how much delicious food you get!"

June 2011 — "Went to the Koryo Korean BBQ for a quick lunch. Decided on the BBW Beef Flamer combo, which included choice of a side (fries or garlic potatoes). I decided on the garlic potatoes. The Beef flamer was very tasty. Apart from the BBQ beef, they include some lettuce on inside of a sesame bun. They also use some kind of sauce, which I imagine is their version of a "secret" sauce like other restaurants have. Nonetheless, the beef flamer was quite good. The side of garlic potatoes was also very good, but seemed a little bit sweet after a while. Basically, they are potato chunks with some kind of glaze on them and obviously plenty of sugar within the ingredients. They were a good accompaniment to the Beef Flamer. The service was prompt, friendly and quick. This was a nice change of pace having bbq slices inside a bun instead of the traditional burger. I would definitely recommend it for a quick, but tasty meal."

May 2011 — "Koryo Korean BBQ is a franchise with locations in many of Calgary's popular malls and food courts. Two of them are located in the downtown core amongst the +15 food courts but the hours varies depending on the day of the week. There are also locations in North Hill Mall as well as the newly opened Cross Iron Mills mall. Koryo is one of the best kept secrets in food courts as its delicious BBQ chicken and short rib steaks rival the quality and taste of a much more expensive Korean restaurant dining experience. My favorite combo is the chicken and beef combo which is served with a side of rice plus two other sides of your choice. The glass noodles are quite delicious and have a unique texture to them. Their pasta side is worth a try. There are also a number of vegetable sides to pick from and all of them are unique."

February 2010 — "I must say, the best on the go Korean food can be found at Koryo Korean BBQ. It's definitely something different from the stone pot and spicy hot bean paste dishes, but so flavorful. With the meal order, you get 2 side dishes - an assortment of glass noodles, broccoli, pasta salad, eggs, coleslaw and my personal fav, the special potatoes to die for! The one downside is, depending on the location, the dishes are not all consistently made. I think the best is downtown. Along with the sides, you also get either steamed or seasoned rice. I've only ever had either the chicken beef or both for my mean, out it's pretty much because I can't bring myself to try something new when my usual is so delicious. The potatoes are super yummy and has just the right amount of sweet, crunchy and saltness. Their secret recipe hits the spot and even though it is fast food, I could vouch that it just doesn't get any better. Give it a try! "
