November 2010 — "Seriously. This is now the go to spot for great, fresh, tasty dim sum treats! Found in the basement of Fuji Yama and next door to the Telus tower, Pine Lake separates itself from the cookie-cutter dim sum joints in town, in several ways.
First and foremost, the menu items are made-to-order. You won’t find any carts rolling around this place. Which admittedly takes away from some of the appeal of dim sum, but at the same time makes the dishes take on flavours and freshness not found at other venues. Particularly tasty items found here include the beef rice crepes and the fresh-baked pineapple-barbecue pork bun.
The service here is outstanding, with the owner often making the rounds recommending items to customers and ensuring food that was ordered was promptly delivered.
While it can be hard to find, and parking isn’t the easiest to get around the area, if you’re going to do dim sum in Calgary, it’s in your interest to head to Pine Lake.

March 2010 — "My friends and I came here for dim sum Saturday afternoon after another friend had recommended it. Between the four of us, we ordered 10 dishes. Each dish had four pieces each and came out relatively fast. The portions were huge and very impressive. This made up for the prices as each dish ranged from $4-5. The service was quite good and they were very prompt in bringing us any additional sauces requested or filling up our tea when it was empty. I have to say that I was quite happy with our meal. The price was very good too considering I got so full that I didn’t even try all the dishes. It came to just over $15 a person which was great seeing as there was left over, and the food tasted good. We will definitely be back, this may just become our regular dim sum place. Hopefully it’s the same the next time we come. "

February 2010 — "My friends highly recommended this place for dim sum, so we all went on a weekend morning. You would never guess by the name that this is a Chinese restaurant but it is. This restaurant is located in the basement of a building and honestly, I’m not sure I can find this place again since I don’t recall seeing any signage. The restaurant itself isn’t too big. There might have been about 20 small tables. The first thing I noticed was how the prices seemed quite a bit higher than other dim sum places. But when the food came out, I could see why. All the portions are much bigger. The rice crepes are twice the size of the ones you get elsewhere. Everything tasted very decent. I wouldn’t say it was outstanding but it was definitely good. The food was generally hot and looked appetizing. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant for your dim sum stop if you are in the Chinatown area and if you can find it!"

Located in Chinatown, this casual restaurant specializes in dim sum that is ordered a la carte. Noodle dishes, rice roll crepes and sticky rice are highlights here.
