December 2009 — "I'm not one to frequent big chain restaurants like the Swiss Chalet, but me and my lady were taking my mom out for dinner and she had a mad craving for mashed potatoes and gravy (you know, a real 'home-style' meal), so we chose the Chalet because that is really all they offer. I wasn't super stoked on the idea, especially when we got to the door and saw a massive lineup. I kept saying "really? For Swiss Chalet?" We decided to stick around and see if it was worth the wait. Turns out we didn't have to stand in line for much more than 10 minutes, which I credit to the efficiency of the staff there. Once seated, we were then surprised with some fantastic service. I mean, this guy was good. He even advised my girlfriend on how to order what she wanted but in a way that would save her a couple of bucks. The food came relatively fast, considering how busy the place was, and it was decent. Nothing to rave about, but my ma got her mashed potatoes and we all had a pretty good time."

December 2009 — "On our most recent trip to Victoria we were meeting up with friends for lunch. They are locals to Victoria so they chose Swiss Chalet as one of their favorite spots. We were greeted immediately by a very friendly hostess and even though it was the busy lunch time, we were seated right away. The atmosphere was perfect for our visit with dear friends. They were offering a holiday special that both our friends ordered and the portions were huge. The chicken was delicious and they really enjoyed the oven baked potato. The cole slaw was creamy and tasty. I decided to try their roasted chicken minestrone soup in a tomato base. It was loaded with chunks of tasty chicken and elbow pasta and other veggies. This bowl of soup was truly a complete meal for me. It was so filling and delicious. We topped everything off with delicious lemon meringue pie. This lunch really hit the spot and now it's one of our favorites too."
