September 2010 — "I went to Ross Bay Pub in Victoria while I was visiting my parents. This was one of their favourite places for a pub-style dinner. The decor here is not fancy. Its basic, but clean, fun and inviting. The dinner menu features a range of pub-style dishes. They offer daily dinner specials at extremely affordable prices. When I dined here the special feature was a turkey dinner. It came with all the fixings, including cranberry ssauce. I decided to give this a try as it was highly recommended to me by both of my parents. I really liked the dinner. It was hearty and traditional for a fair price. Meals range between $10 and $18 dollars. Major sporting events are featured on the big screen TV and locals seem to enjoy the buzzing atmosphere. I would recommend this place to people who want a cheap dinner out in a casual pub atmosphere. "

January 2010 — "As a vegetarian, I expect very little from pubs. I have been stuck with a plate of fries, or a bland salad too many times. What a treat this unassuming little bar was! I had so many options, then ended up with one of the tastiest veggie burgers I've ever had. Topped with asiago and tapenade, and served with really outstanding fries. My husband was equally pleased with his (beefy) burger. Also, with a framed BC Lions on the wall, this pub had the only evidence I've seen so far that Victorians may watch the CFL after all! Cool!"

Situated across from the Ross Bay Cemetery in the Fairfield neighbourhood, the Ross Bay Pub occupies an historic colonial cottage dating back to 1865. Along with Canadian and British pub classics (everything from perogies and nachos to fish and chips and Montreal smoked meat sandwich) guests can watch pay per view Canuck games. Keno and Buzztime trivia can also be played here and Music Bingo is featured every Saturday night from 7:30.
