April 2011 — "Hidden away behind a non-descript strip mall across from the Northland Shopping Centre is a little husband and wife owned eatery called Hankang Korean Restaurant. Being family owned and operated it also has a comfortable and cozy feel. The restaurant while small has both booths and tables to accommodate larger groups of families and friends. The menu is typical Korean fare and includes lots of BBQ's meats as well as seafood and lean vegetable dishes. Each meal is served with a hot clear soup and all orders come with a set or traditional Korean appetizers which includes picked cabbage, kimchi, and sweet garlic potatoes. Our visit was during a weekday evening so it was no particular busy. The service by the husband and wife team was fast and friendly. We tried their bulgogi BBQ beef and a dish of glass noodles. While the beef was tender the glass noodles were a bit on the chewy side. Their lunch menu is also competitively priced so I'll be back to give it another try."

August 2010 — "I've been to HanKang a number of times and I've always been satisfied. Like most Korean restaraurants, it is a little small, but it is clean and the servers are friendly. Service was quick and the side dishes were excellent. We especially liked the fried potato covered in a sweet sauce. In the times we've been there, we've ordered the Kimchi soup (Kimchi Chigae), the spicy beef soup (which was my favorite but i can't spell it) and the rice hot pot (bibimpop). The food has always been excellent. I've always been a lover of korean food, but have had difficulty finding a decent Korea restaurant that offers decent food and decent service. I really like Hankang and will continue to go there in the future "

January 2010 — "This is not the first time I have visited this Korean establishment, but the second time around, after over a year, I must say I was a bit disappointed. If you are in the area though, I think it is still worth a go, mainly because I don't know of any other Korean places around the Northwest. Hankang is pretty much right across from Northland mall, across from the high school. Easily missed if you hadn't heard of it before. There were a few surprises for sure. First of all, we got miso soup, which seemed a little out of culture, and it was a bit salty. And while we were waiting, we were expecting to get the side dishes before our entrees came out. Instead, it was at the same time, leaden us to wonder whether they would make an appearance at all. I had my hot stone rice, which was good, but personally, I eat that dish because of the hot sauce, which was lacking in something. And truthfully, I felt like there was not much rice to go with my dish. It was only half full and it didn't feel like it was enough for me. Even the glass noodles my friend had seemed to be different. Either they changed the supplier or they just didn't cook it thoroughly. It felt a little el dente, which is difficult to stomach. After so much time, I was pretty disappointed. Looks like I have to find another option the next time I want Korean. "

Hot pot, meat and fish BBQ, bulgogi and a range of noodles are just some of the authentic foods that customers will find at Hankang. Their full course meal combinations are popular for groups.
