January 2010 — "The Bent Mast is about to become one of our mainstays, I can tell. We had such a great time; our server and even the table next to us were very friendly and fun! Trivial Pursuit on the tables keeps the good times going, and check out the history on the back of the menu; fascinating...! As for the food; the appies looked like a great mix, so we got three of them. It is so hard to find vegetarian pot stickers! Served with simple rice vinegar, it was a real treat. I also had an entree- the pasta special, which was only $8.95 and came with garlic toast and a salad (with pomegranate on top! Cool!) I even indulged in a house made blueberry cheesecake, which was everything a cheesecake should be. For pub food, I don't know that we need to go anywhere else! I also love any place that serves local beer."

The Bent Mast is a Victoria landmark and is famous for purportedly being one of the most haunted buildings in the area--a claim that is palpable upon entering this sailing-themed house-cum-pub. It features a relaxed atmosphere and a small bar with room for only a few patrons to saddle up to. The rest of the space is technically a restaurant and food must be ordered with drinks. It is located in James Bay.
