December 2011 — "I recently moved nearby and had the opportunity to dine at the Fiddler’s Courtyard with some friends. The location used to house a rather seedy looking neighbourhood pub that I was never inclined to set foot in, but when it changed names it took on a more welcoming look and I’d heard good things from friends who also live in the area. It’s a small pub, with a definite English feel. Our server was friendly but also flighty and forgetful, for which she apologized numerous times. They have a wide selection of cold beers, ciders and highballs. I love a good cold pint of Guinness and was not disappointed. The food menu holds a variety of standard pub fare. I couldn’t resist trying both the fish and chips and the mini stuffed yorkies. The fish and chips was a very good meal, with a good fish-to-batter ratio. The stuffed yorkies were also delicious. I would order both of these meals again. The pub was clean, the bathrooms were fine, the service was acceptable. I like it for a nearby neighbourhood pub and good pub food.

January 2011 — "After moving from England, I really miss the British pub culture but this pub manages to capture it pretty well -- I hear the owners are from the UK so I'm sure that helps. Anyway, it's got a great atmosphere with a combination of stylish and rustic decor and the crowd is always fun and friendly. Plus the chairs at the high tables are amazingly (and surprisingly) comfortable -- a real treat on the bum.
They have a good selection of British and Canadian beers, and a nice choice of regular food and British pub food -- including Yorkshire puddings, yum! Actually, the menu is huge and they have entree, sandwiches, salads, burgers, pizza and a lot more. They have really good daily specials during the week. But I find their chicken wongs a bit dry. The service has always been pretty decent.
All in all a great pub -- highly recommended!

October 2010 — "Fiddler's Court is not the most enticing place, and unless you live in the area, you probably wouldn't find yourself there. The outside is quite tacky looking and doesn't give off a professional, classy image whatsoever. However, the inside is a fair bit better. I went with a friend for a few drinks and some dinner and was pretty satisfied with the experience! The atmosphere inside was comfortable, although when we first walked in, all we could smell was BURNING....something was clearly burning in the kitchen but we decided to take a gamble and order food anyways. I had the club sandwich, which I find tends to be a good bet when you haven't eaten somewhere before. The sandwich was big with generous fillings and the fries were especially delicious! Our server was quite friendly and confident, which made for a nice experience. The food was well priced for what you get! All in all, don't be fooled by the outside decor, as Fiddler's is a neat little place to hangout and have some good food! "

December 2009 — "I live in Renfrew and the one thing lacking in this neighborhood is a good pub. This is no longer the case since the old dingy pub that I would never have been seen in, has been purchased by new owners and totally renovated. Although it's a really small pub, they have packed it with lots of tables and even some booths. It doesn't even resemble the old dingy, run-down dive that had been there. The menu is filled with typical English pub fare, like appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, pizza etc. I chose to try out the hot wings and my wife ordered the baked brie. The wings were tasty and she loved the brie, but it wasn't my kind of thing. The only thing that was relatively annoying was that the server was not very observant. I had an empty pint glass in front of me for about 10 minutes, even though she walked by several times. I eventually had to go ask for service, something I rarely do. However, I know we'll be back because it has decent food and is really close to our house."

Fiddler's Courtyard is a British style pub located just off Edmonton Trail across from Diner Deluxe. Enjoy a few pints with some pub grub and catch the game on TV.
