November 2011 — "With an old stone walled interior, I was anticipating an old Italian feel to the menu. The bikes mounted on the wall made me want to watch "The Bicycle Thief", but did not fit with the upscale style I felt was the aim of the restaurant. The mood lighting was a little too dark, which was unsuitable for the hangout with a group of girls, such as I had planned.
My cocktail was very good, I had been in the mood for a Cesar, and they made me a traditional one ( the waiter talked me out of the Grappa Cesar, and I'm not sure I wanted to be talked out of it.)
I chose the chicken Parmesan, which my friend advised after I ordered was one of their best dishes. It was served well, still hot when I received it, and the pasta it was served with was quite tasty. The only thing missing was the Parmesan on the chicken.
Overall, it was good enough to return to the restaurant in the future, but not good enough to go out of my way for. Also, as we were a larger group ( over 8 people), the gratuity was automatically added to each bill. I enjoyed my meal, but I won't join a wait list to get in."

April 2011 — "Fiamo Italian Kitchen is a unique restaurant at the foot of Yates St. My husband had been there before but this was my first visit and I'm already looking forward to the next.
We didn't have a reservation and were told the wait would be about twenty minutes. The aroma was so good that I really didn't want to go anywhere else so we left our cell number, went for a walk and the hostess called us when our table was almost ready. Much nicer than standing in the entrance until a space was available.
The initial ambiance is warm and relaxed with brick walls, subdued colours, bikes hanging on walls and great added detail like a huge glass chandelier which for some reason didn't seem out of place at all.
Our waitress took our food and wine order and brought bread with oil and balsamic vinegar while we waited. To start we shared a special pizza with pesto, chicken and baby arugula. The thin crust was perfect and the topping combination was delicious. For our main course my husband had a ravioli pasta dish and I had grilled salmon. The presentation was appealing, everything was cooked to perfection and the ample portions left us with no room for dessert.
We both thought this was a great place for casual dining. The staff were happy and outgoing, the food exceptional and the prices reasonable. We will definitely recommend Fiamo to friends."

April 2010 — "My girlfriend and I went to Fiamo’s for dinner in April. She had been recommended it by another mutual friend of ours. It was awesome; I had the best muscles that I have ever eaten! The restaurant cooks Italian food, and I can’t wait to go back! When you walk in , the atmosphere is very comfortable and inviting, there are old pictures of Italy on the wall, and lots of other funky art as well, not to forget the bicycle that was above our table, jetting out of the wall. The appetizer is when we ordered the white wine cream sauce muscles, and they were sooo good. I love seafood and I have eaten muscles a hundred times, and these were the best. They were not fishy, the sauce was so light and the garlic was perfectly incorporated into the meal, they were melt in your mouth delicious, and to this day I have not had better. Even though I could have filled up on the appy, I ordered a pizza, it was very good, light crispy crust, not greasy, and cooked with real authentic Italian Olive oil. Very good. The Waitress was very slow, and we did not get great service, but we didn’t mind much as we finished off 2 bottles of wine that night. Prices were good, and I can’t wait to go back!"

November 2009 — "Fiamo is a newish Italian restaurant located at the bottom of Johnson Street. The have lots of room inside and a mezzanine area for large parties. The inside is warm with lots of red brick and art. Our waitress was very attentive and was great about making suggestions and conversation. On this Tuesday, they had a pizza special...any pizza for $12. We ordered the Shaved Prosciutto and shared it between us. Fantastic pizza that filled us up -- we were hoping to try out some dessert! Instead, we ordered some red wine which was smooth and tasty. Another friend took his mother there for her birthday and really enjoyed the place, which was why we thought we might try it. It's in a central location with lots of shopping around. I would recommend Fiamo to anyone looking for great service and excellent Italian food! They have a few different specials running on certain days of the week...will be back to check them out!"

In the former Luciano's location, Fiamo brings a fresh take on Italian cuisine. Exposed brick walls adorned with art and a large chandelier creates a bistro-type setting for enjoying such menu items like artisan pizza, pasta avila with duck confit, pasta vongole with steamed manila clams, and grilled asiago beef tenderloin. A lounge style area is also here for those who prefer to chill with a cocktail.
