August 2011 — "My girlfriends and I decided to surprise one of our friends for her birthday. We all love going for tea so I suggested we try the Fairmont Afternoon Tea in Lake Louise. Making a reservation was surprisingly simple and once we arrived everything was almost like a fairy tale. I love the Chateau Lake Louise to begin with but this experience was better than the rest. Driving up the hill we noticed cars parked all along the hill and we were already running a bit tardy so we were concerned about parking -- without hesitation the valet men were ready to help us, despite the fact that we stated we were just there for tea. $15 to have valet door service on such a busy day was well worth it for us -- especially being used to Calgary parking prices. We got to the Fairview and the hostess was prompt to greet and seat us. We were seated at a table right by the window with a perfect view of the lake. The oversized chairs and antiquated feel made everything feel so magical. Our server was beyond pleasant and had no problems explaining the afternoon tea process. We were happily surprised to learn that a glass of Prosecco was included with the experience and when our server realized we were celebrating she upgraded us to the Moet, no questions asked and free of charge. We were unsure what the food was going to be like but the starter fruit cocktail was delicious and the array of sandwich bites, biscuits and desserts were exactly perfect. I must say, the biscuits are divine! The special blend black tea I ordered wasn't as good as I expected but overall the experience was beautiful! $39 for great eats, wonderful treatment, breath taking views and quality time with friends is amazing! "
