August 2009 — "The Italian Center Shop café is located in Edmonton’s charming Italian district just beyond the downtown. First and foremost, the Center Shop is a lovely, local grocery store. But recently, they opened a cafeteria style café to the side of the grocery store where they serve fresh pastries and wonderful coffees. It can be busy but my friends and I usually visit in the mornings and we don’t have any trouble finding a table. But if you come by a little later in the afternoon, you may find you run into the grocery-getting crowd. After our breakfast and coffee we all can conveniently wander across the café to the grocery store to buy our weekly groceries. Last week, not only did we have an opportunity to cash in on all the reasonably priced produce and deli goods, but there was an accordion player strolling through the aisles to serenade us. The chain stores certainly can’t top that!!"

Spinelli's Bar Italia is situated within the Italian Centre Shop at both their Little Italy and south side locations. With access to the best imported, Italian ingredients expect delectable baked goods and their famous ICS panini served hot or mild. Enjoy a full range of espresso-based drinks or Italian sodas as well. An extensive bakery is also on site with all kinds of sweets, from fruit-topped pastries to cream-filled cakes. They are open daily from 9am to 9pm.
