July 2011 — "1600 World Bier Haus is a cozy modern pub located in the south side of the city on 90th St SW. I would not have discovered this bar if not for a friend who lives near this part of town. We decided to give it a try based on the reputation of the other establishments managed by the same ownership. Both 1410 and Classic Jack's pubs located on 17th Ave, also known as the Red Mile, are operated by the same ownership and bothof those places are quality places to grab a beer. 1600 World Bier Haus did not disappoint as the food and drinks were both satisfying. The interior is modern, open, and most of all comfortable with plenty of seating as well as booths. The specials which were wings tasted great although a tad small. There is also a fantastic beer tasting held at 1600 each summer which is a big draw."

March 2010 — "I wasn't sure about this place going in -- I tend to prefer more casual pubs and this place seemed quite sleek and snobby, but I went anyway and was really impressed. Yes, it's sleek and there are a few polished chachi types but overall the place had a great vibe. We went in without a reservation and the host was really accommodating and came to find us at the bar as soon as a table freed up. He even bought us a drink while we waited -- now, I should point out that I was with a really attractive friend so maybe he's not as nice to everyone but I was still quite impressed.
Their beer menu is really great, with brews from around the world. The international beers were $7 each so they're not cheap, but that's not bad either, and when I was there, that was the price for all international beers -- even Hoegaarden , which is quite a lot bigger than the rest of them.
Would definitely go back. "

"relaxed place to hang out "

December 2009 — "My friends and I ended up at this place as per the request of the birthday girl. It seemed like a very relaxed place to hang out and get a few drinks. It was quite busy and a very casual atmosphere despite a somewhat fancier décor. There was a good combination of people, who were drinking and watching the game. I ordered some fancy martini and my friends just had some pop. As stated earlier, it was quite busy so I guess I can excuse that the waitress had to be asked twice before we got our order. I’m not sure how our bill came out to $30 without tip seeing as we ordered probably the cheapest thing on the menu but I guess that’s the price of going out. It was a little confusing to get to this place so I’m not sure we’ll be back. I think I would recommend it though to friends who are in that area looking for a place to hang out. "

December 2009 — "We've been going to this restaurant since it opened and unfortunately we've watched the service slide. Last Saturday we went for a beer and lunch. After asking the waitress, I had to get up three times to get cutlery, side plates for the mussels and a straw for my sangria that needed stirring. The beer is expensive and the food quality is all over the place. They've got the ambiance down but definitely have to do something with their wait staff... some of the worst service I've experienced in Calgary. "
