February 2011 — "During our stay at the Delta in Kananaskis, we decided to have one of our lunches at the Fireweed Grill. Located right in the main lodge of the village, we did not need to make any reservations despite previously being warned that reservations were often required. When we arrived, we waited approx. 5 minutes as they got a table together for us. Much like other restaurants within the village, children 6 and under got free lunch (off a kids menu) and kids up to 12 could order from the main menu at 50% off the price. I settled on a BBQ beef brisket on a bun, while my kids ordered a mini pizza, and Kraft macaroni and cheese from the kids menu. The food arrived pretty quickly after ordering. My BBQ beef on a bun was smothered in BBQ sauce, just the way I like these types of things. I have to say that I really enjoyed it. It also came with a side dish, which I opted for the house salad. Not being a real salad eater, I do have to say that it was a terrific salad. The house dressing was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My one son enjoyed the mini pizza, while the other 2 kids had the mac and cheese. Only one of the two enjoyed this item. When the bill arrived, the server automatically placed each of our children on the "free" meal. There was no fuss about this, and he did not even ask us their independent ages. The main course menus ranged from $15-20 each, so I am sure that giving away kids meals is somewhat of a loss leader. All in all, a nice setting, with some pretty good food."

March 2010 — "I ate dinner at the Fireweed Grill when staying overnight at the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis. From walking in to walking out, the service was extraordinary. The server was friendly and attentive and made me feel like royalty. The menu offers a striking selection of dishes from duck to lamb to beef and everything in between. I ordered the beef tenderloin, and I would easily rank it in my top five beef experiences. It was so tender I thought it might melt in my mouth. The flavour was very dynamic, while not overpowering the natural flavour of high quality beef. It was just the right size to fill me up, but so delicious it left me longing for more! I didn't need dessert after that, but the selection of desserts was rather tantalizing. The whole experience left me looking for my next opportunity to stay at this hotel and eat at this restaurant."
