"Fantastic Tacos"

October 2009 — "I'm not sure where this place came from, but I hope its here to stay. I stumbled upon this establishment while driving through the community. Its located in a small strip mall near Marlborough Mall. Having a penchant for Mexican food, I decided to step in and see what they offered. It appears that their main business is selling Mexican grocery items and making tortilla shells in bulk to sell. There was only a small white piece of paper that indicated they served tacos and you really had to look for it. The menu was also pretty limited serving only Tacos and Tamales with your choice of meat. (Beef, Chicken, Taco) Since I couldn’t decide what I wanted I ordered one of each taco and a single tamale on the side. The man behind the counter began to make the tacos fresh and I sat down on the single table in the front to eat them. The tacos were nothing short of amazing, the ingredients were top quality and the meats were fresh and juicy. Its probably one of the best tacos I've eaten in this city. The only thing I have to complain about is the size and price of the taco. They were very small and cost $3 each. If the owner drops the price to even $2 per taco, I'm sure he would get a lot more business."

"Totally worth driving out of the way for"

September 2009 — "This little place is located on Marlborough Drive in the north east part of town and is possibly your chance to have the best soft shell taco you will ever have. Las Tortillas has a big business of making fresh soft corn tortillas that you can buy but they also offer a choice of their authentic Mexican tacos. You can choose from chicken, beef or pork and the cost is $3 per taco. The taco itself is quite small, but once you bite into it, you will understand why it costs as much as it does. I bought 3 tacos (one of each type of meat) and a tamale for lunch. Their tacos are so good that I found myself thinking about it throughout the day. I know it sounds weird but the tacos are just that good. Their tamales are really good too if you like it. This was my first time trying one but it reminded of Chinese sticky rice but better. The texture is quite mushy but if you like that, it was really reminiscent of comfort food. I highly recommend you check this place out."

Description

About as authentic as possible, this Mexican restaurant makes their own fresh corn tortillas from scratch. Visit Las Tortillas for an authentic pork, beef and shrimp tortillas served with a side of home made salsa. Primarily a take-out restaurant, there are a few tables for eating in. A little shop is on the premises as well, selling refried beans, dried peppers and other Mexican specialty items.
