July 2011 — "I am usually pretty happy with the selection and service at this restaurant. The food is very fresh, and arrives quickly. This time I ordered Satay Short Ribs & a steamed chicken dish- I think it was called Emperor's Chicken.
Both were quite good, and the portions were generous as I was able to take home leftovers. I also ordered steamed rice which went with it nicely.
The decor of this restaurant is a bit tacky (Christmas lights up most of the year), but it is clean. I would recommend this restaurant."

March 2011 — "I have been to Shanghai Palace several times and always receive great food and excellent service. They have a good selection of items to choose from which always makes ordering an interesting task! This time we ordered: Sliced Beef with Black Bean sauce hot plate, Pineapple Prawns with Sweet and Sour sauce, and Scallops with Snow Peas. The beef is a regular favorite, it comes mixed with chopped mushrooms, onions, green peppers. The prawn dish was REALLY good, fresh, and served with lots of pineapple chunks. The Scallop dish was okay, the scallops were good, but the snow peas were maybe a little old? Not sure if I would order this again.
Our server was attentive and friendly as always. The restaurant is clean, but decor is a little dated. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone."

October 2009 — "I went out for dinner with my family for my dad's birthday to Shanghai palace. The atmosphere was typical for a chinese food restaurant. The walls were covered in chinese decor and there was soft music in the background. The one problem I found was that the tables were too close together. It was hard to get around other tables to get to my own table. I also kind of felt that I was having dinner with strangers because I could hear other customers conversations while eating. The tables were nice and big which was nice since we had a large group of people. The food we ordered was pretty good especially the dumplings. The food was hot and fast; however, I would not recommend the spare ribs as they were really greasy and fatty. The service was great and the waitresses friendly. They always made sure our green tea was topped up which was great. I am planning on going again the next time I am having a craving for chinese food, so all in all good chinese food."
