August 2009 — "Albert’s Pancake House is a member of the chain of Albert’s Family Restaurants. This one is located northwest of downtown Edmonton on 124th Street. It is a pretty standard breakfast joint—pleasantly tacky décor, large selection on the menu and mediocre service. But, unlike the other breakfast chains out there, Albert’s doesn’t gouge you on the prices. You can have the standard breakfast special—2 eggs, choice of meat, toast and hash browns—for only $7.99. I tried something different and ordered the potato pancakes. Though they were a little over-fried, they were tasty and came with sour cream or apple sauce. The food was quick to come out and tasted fine. We didn’t have as many refills of coffee as we may have liked despite it being relatively quiet, but nothing serious to complain about. Something that truly sets Albert's apart from the others is that we didn’t have to wait to get a table on a Sunday morning."
