July 2011 — "This interesting restaurant opened awhile back - I believe the same folks own the Casita Mexicana (shared space right next door) and so when you enter the one door, you can go left for Mexican and right for Indian. It's a great idea. Although we shared our food, I'll focus on my main meal, the Peshawari Chole (Chickpeas) cooked with spices, garnished with fresh tomatoes and chopped coriander. Apparently this meal is both vegan and gluten friendly. The meal was a good size, and combined with rice was filling. The total came to around $12 including the rice, which I thought was good. The server was terrific - very attentive and made sure we always had water (a must when eating Indian food, at least for me!). The shared washroom for the two restaurants is in poor shape - the tap cover was missing, duct tape covered the drain hole in the floor, and tiles were coming off of the walls. Not a great sell for cleanliness, even though when I looked carefully the washroom itself seemed reasonably clean. For the food, a big thumbs up - it would be worthwhile though for the owners to clean up the carpet on the floor in the back part and the washroom."

July 2011 — "Wicked Chili Cuisine India is located on 17th Avenue SW. It shares a doorway with La Casita Mexicana. They also have the same phone number for reservations. As you enter, you turn left for Mexican food and right for Indian food. I have now tried both restaurants and am pleased to say they are both very good. At Wicked Chili I tried the Coconut Curry Chicken. It was extremely good. I savoured every bite. Creamy and delicious! The Cauliflower Potato dish was also good, but without the impact of the Curry Chicken. The tumeric and yogurt flavour was very nice though. Our server was friendly and we were never waiting long to have our needs met. Like most places in Calgary, wine prices were a bit high. ($8 for a 6 oz. glass) It was Gato Negro, one of the inexpensive Chilean wines. I hope that more people frequent this restaurant because the food is great. Judging from the washroom needing some tender love and care, they may be a bit short of cash at the moment. (Two of the tiles were missing from the sink and the urinal was out of order.) It was clean though. Check out their great food!"
