December 2011 — "The service at Tea Pot Bistro (Harvest Hills) was average but efficient.
We always had help from extra refills of water to tea and extra napkins.
It was not very busy tonight, there were at least 4 other empty booths in the dining room. We ordered deep fried prawns with mayo, cheese baked live lobster, simmered snow pea leaves, dried scallops with tobiko fried rice and a vietnamese special slush for drink.
We were told that the slush ran out of pearls so our server asked us whether we would like to add jellies instead. We said yes and she nodded and walked away. She came back five minutes later to let us know that the jelly would be an extra charge. We said no we do not want it then. On the final bill, the charged us the extra jelly and gave us a drink without jelly. Why? The other tables who ordered slush drinks 5 minutes after us all had pearls too. I was very upset over this mistake. Our slush price was not adjusted for no pearls, it was rather increased for adding invisible jelly which was non existent.
Final words, make sure you confirm with your server on what your ordered because chances are, she/he does not understand your english."

December 2011 — "I met about 30 of my relatives here for dinner one night for Christmas eve and it was a very bright and warm place. Compared to all the other Chinese restaurants in Calgary, this restaurant has a newer feel with much more modern decor. The service here is quick but the portions here are slightly smaller then the restaurants in downtown. We ordered the typical set dinner which included fish, chicken and pork. A favorite here is the salted egg yolk tofu dish. Overall is was a great experience and everything was tasty."

November 2011 — "This restaurant was busy when we arrived - it is very popular! We had to wait for about 10 minutes to be seated, but it wasn't a big deal. We ordered typical dim sum including pork dumplings, steamed beef and bbq pork. Everything was hot and fresh, although it was probably made before we were even seated, I assume the food has a very quick turn over because they are so busy. Our server was just okay, and atmosphere was busy but otherwise fine. Wouldn't be my first choice for dim sum, but it was still good."

August 2009 — "I was really excited when Tea Pot opened up in Harvest Hills since finding parking in china town isn’t exactly easy and definitely pricey. We’ve been to Tea Pot a few times now. You really need to get there before 10:30am for lunch if you don’t want to wait an hour to be seated. The food there ranges from Rice to dim sum to Noodle Soup and lots of Hong Kongs style teas and coffee. There are pages and pages of selection. But every time we’ve been there, the service is not very good at all. They always take a while just to come and take your order. Also unlike most western restaurants, for most Chinese restaurants the food is not kept in the kitchen until the entire table’s order are ready. Sometime there is such a big gap in the time that the orders come out, the first person’s order will be cold by the time the 3rd or 4th person’s food arrives. Mistakes in our order also happen quite often. It’s rarely that you can get a refill automatically without asking and it takes a long time to get their attention. The food is definitely good, but with the poor service it’s hard to enjoy your meal. We do not go to Tea Pot anymore."

August 2009 — "Teapot is located in the newest T&T in the northwest side of Calgary. It was about time that someone invested into opening more Chinese places in the northwest. Teapot is separated into the rice, noodles, and congee section and the dim sum/8 course meal seats. The decor is not really like the typical Asian restaurant, and the food is definitely up to par. It brings both a sophisticated and Asian diners place. The dim sum was very good, but a little on the expensive side. Nothing particularly different from your run in the mill dim sum, but the cleanliness of the restaurant was definitely the seller for me. The Har Gou come with 5 pieces, and the chicken feet was pretty good, very tender and the noodle wrapped beef was very nicely made. The one complaint is on the service, which is slow and disappointing. At times, it felt like the servers were ignoring me, even at the cashier when paying. If you don't mind the lack of service, this is still a good place to go to, but be warned, it is not cheap. Each plate of dim sum is on average, $4.25.

The Tea Pot specializes in fresh dim sum with a large selection and diverse ingredients that rivals downtown dim sum haunts. Other dishes available are an 8-course set meal, congee and noodles.
