September 2009 — "After reading another review, my husband, sister, grandmother and I decided to try Bonavista Peking House for my grandmother's birthday dinner. The restaurant is nicely appointed, clean, and it was easily found from the map on the other review.
We ordered the dinner for four which included wonton or hot and sour soup, spring rolls, ginger fried beef, sweet and sour chicken, and shrimp and broccoli, and chicken fried rice. We added a fat noodle with pork dish as well.
Every dish arrived piping hot and well presented but more than that each and every one was delicious. The won ton was the best I have ever had - not too greasy and the wonton filling was very tasty. The rice was prepared to perfection with white chicken so tasty. I personally loved the sweet & sour chicken. The shrimp lovers raved about that dish and all but my grandmother (dentures) enjoyed the ginger beef. We will definitely be back and encourage all to try this lovely venue for chinese food away from China town."

"This is my All-Time Favorite Chinese"

May 2009 — "If you are looking for delicious and mouth watering Chinese Food while you are in Calgary, please do yourself a huge favour and try the Lake Bonavista Peking House. It is located in the smaller mall right on the Lake in South Calgary. My family and I have dined here for years and we always come back when visiting the City. The staffs are very friendly and helpful and they were always extra caring whenever I would take my aging Dad to his favourite restaurant in town. The menu is chuck full of wonderful dishes. We always like to order the hot and sour soup to begin any meal. We’ve literally tried it around the world, and I would say this is the best tasting. The small order is large enough for two. We love the fresh taste of the sweet and sour chicken served on top of steamed and fluffy white rice. The stir fry veggies are freshly cooked and delicious. The green tea is the perfect topper.
We’ll be back.
