June 2009 — "Beckin's is a mid-sized restaurant located in quiet Cordova Bay near Victoria. Although you can't see the beach which is not far away, you can feel the coolness of the ocean air. The restaurant is in a small mall although I didn't pay much attention to what else is located in the building. Inside, it looks like a log house with log walls and ceiling beams. There is a mezzanine eating area overlooking the main seating and an outdoor patio which is where we headed. Set down from the road and parking lot the patio is secluded and very comfortable for having a meal. We were there for burger night so we all ordered burgers. There were several types to choose from but I stuck with my usual burger order - bacon and cheese. They offer a double pattie burger as well which my friend ordered. It was humungous and much more than he was able to eat. All of us enjoyed our burgers. I had yam fries with mine which were a little different. Rather than being cut like regular fries they were sliced and fried in rounds. They weren't the best I have had but okay. Overall, though, my meal was very good and I would recommend this restaurant. Although I didn't see children there I would guess that they could accommodate a smaller portion for children. "
