August 2011 — "We had dinner at the newly re-opened Roadhouse Bar & Grill recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. We are glad to see this restaurant back up and running in our neighbourhood.
We went on a Sunday, just 5 days after it re-opened. The waitress/owner informed us that it may take awhile to get our food as it was so busy but we were not in a rush. Our food arrived within 1/2 hour which we thought was fairly quick for being busy.
The new owners are very friendly and also the owners of Evedar's in Langford, a place we had enjoyed in the past.
I ordered Gnocchi, something I usually would not order but thought I would give it a try. The flavours were a nice blend of tomato, roasted garlic, mushrooms, onion and feta. My only complaint was that it had too much oil in the bottom of the bowl.
My husband ordered a sirloin beef burger with salad that he thoroughly enjoyed.
The restaurant has live music on Friday and Saturday evenings, nothing too heavy, we were told.
The menu has a nice mix of choices at various prices.
They are having a grand opening celebration on Aug 26, 2011.
We will go back to this restaurant and recommend you give it a try."

"good pub, unsure about the name"

November 2009 — "The Roadhouse is situated on West Saanich Road and is a short drive outside of Victoria. The restaurant is very modern and new looking inside and they have done a nice job in decorating the place. I did think that the name Roadhouse does not really fit with the location, there is a Harley Davidson bike on the wall but they could have chosen a better pub sounding name.
Names aside, our server was very efficient and friendly. She took our order quickly and kept on checking to see how we were doing. I tried the Prime Beef Rib sandwich and it came on a bun served with fries and salad. It was very good and filling, there was a lot of food on the plate. My wife had the Pork Ribs, served with fresh vegetables. The sauce on the ribs was good but the ribs were dry and chewy, almost like they had been warmed up in the microwave. My mom in law tried the lamb shank, it is served with vegetables and mashed potatoes. The lamb shank and sauce was good but the vegetables were raw, however the mash potatoes were excellent.
The pub has a nice setting and good ambience, the food is okay and it is one of those places I will go back to have a beer on their patio in the summer but not necessarily rush back for the food.

"Very busy - great burger"

July 2009 — "A group of 10 of us went to The Road House one night. We made a reservation and requested to be sat on the patio. It was a very warm evening and to be outside in a fresh air garden setting was wonderful. They had unique garden decor amongst the plants. The high end patio furniture was classy & comfortable. The inside had hardwood floors & cedar beams. There is this massive old style bar. It really is a work of art all by itself. There was also an antique Harley Davidson hung on the wall. It looks like alot of money has been spent on this place. The restaurant tends to get very busy on their special nights and parking can be a bit of an issue because its not a very big parking lot. Also the main road it is on can be very busy. We just parked up the little side street around the corner and it was no problem. Their prices are a little higher for some of the items on the menu. Although when we were there it was their Burger & Beer Special evening they have every Wednesday. You get a prime rib burger & a beer for $9.95. The burger was delicious and for the price you couldn't beat it. We also ordered the calamari and it was fabulous. One of the better Calamari I've had. It was cooked perfectly. Our waitress managed to get all of our drinks, meals and individual bills out correctly and efficiently. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal. Our group has just recently gone back and had a great repeat performance. "

June 2009 — "The Roadhouse Bar and Grill is located on West Saanich Road in Victoria and is a little out of the way. I assume that it caters more to locals than visitors to the city since it is a little difficult to find but once there we were not disappointed. The seating was fun for the kids - high bar style tables although they do have regular booths and tables. There is an outside sitting area with high rock walls. It is very garden like and would be a nice, cool place to sit on a hot summer evening. The menu is varied from seafood to burgers. The special when we were there was an oyster dish (we didn't try it). My friend and I had beef burgers. My daughter had a chicken penne and his daughter had a chicken burger. The waitress was very nice and the service was excellent. We did not feel rushed even though the place filled up after we arrived and by the time we left, they were completely full. With the exotic appetizers on the menu I had expected the burger to be homemade with some great BBQ sauce, but it was preformed patties with sparce condiments. It was good but not what I had expected. My daughter liked the penne and found the portion too large to eat so she brought some home. The chicken burger was a good size as well and my friend's daughter was pleased with her meal. When we were finished the waitress offered us free dessert - chocolate cake - which we sampled. It was a nice finish to our meal. I would recommend this restaurant but I wouldn't drive all the way from Victoria to go there unless you are heading to Butchart Gardens or had some other reason to be in the area. "
