September 2009 — "The town of Tubac is filled with galleries and working artisans. It was off-season when I was there, but many of the artists were still hanging out and doing their craft. I dipped into the old Tubac Inn to escape the heat and have a bite. The interior featured lots of fairly rustic wood. There was a recently added outdoor deck and a fairly new fireplace too. Apparently they have live music from time to time. One of the favorities from the menu is their green chili stew. Baby Back Ribs (Half=$15 and Full= $19) and Rotisserie Chicken ($12) are among the other offerings on the lunch menu. I tried the Chicken Quesadilla and it did not disappoint. I noted that they often have all day happy hours and sometimes they have specials where a bottle of wine is half price. I got the impression that during peak tourist season, this place would be extremely popular. Don't drive by Tubac. The town and the Inn have a lot to offer. "

July 2009 — "What a neat little place! Built in the 50's, the Inn has served Tubacians and the rest of the world for decades, and, from what we heard, has always been a hit. They boast 'southwest saloon cuisine', and while I ended up having a chef salad at $8.95 US (hardly saloon fare), the menu featured a good variety of Mexican, like Green Chile Stew, a slew of burgers, pulled pork sandwiches, steaks, pastas, seafood and chicken. For me, the treat in this place was reasonable air conditioning and the décor! It was a clever mix of contemporary, cowboy western, and Mexican…we didn't sit on the patio because it was a mere 115 degrees Fahrenheit, but I think it would make a great place to have a nice evening dinner. Tubac is fascinating as it is mainly comprised of art galleries and craft shops, so plan to take in the culture and follow it up with a tasty meal at the Inn."

BulletDescription

A restaurant and salon, the Old Tubac Inn has rustic but contemporary decor that serves as a backdrop for a menu that features Tex-Mex cuisine and authentic Mexican dishes. Open for lunch and dinner, they also have a full-service bar so don't forget to try a margarita. Baby back ribs, green chili stew, 16 oz certified angus beef ribeye, beef burrito, and bacon wrapped shrimp filet is just a sampling of what is on the menu.
