December 2011 — "My wife has been working downtown for years now. And she and her co-workers have been raving about this place for 5+ years. They used to have a location downtown but had to move up north.
We were in the area on New Years Eve and happened to drive by and she begged and pleaded with me to stop for lunch. I am not a huge Vietnamese fan...so I was hesitant....but the puppy dog eyes finally won out.
The restaurant looks new and the owners even remembered her from downtown! We each ordered a sate sub. I got the pork and she ordered her much talked about always craved Chicken.
I have to say...it was absolutely delicious! My only regret is that there is not one closer. I am already thinking of excuses to drive all the way up there again.
Excellent food, excellent service and cheap prices....doesn't get better than that man - give 'em a try."

September 2009 — "I was personally devastated when Vietwest had to close its downtown location because the building was being renovated or demolished. However, about six months later I was elated to find that they had reopened on 4th street NW at about 56th Ave. The great thing about this restaurant is that they will deliver to our downtown office for lunch if we order enough food! We've done that a couple of times and it has been great every time. This past week I actually made it up to the restaurant to have dinner. The decor is simple, but much nicer than their old location and the menu is filled with the favourites as well as a bunch of new dishes. I'm very fond of their Beef Satay Subs, their Beef Satay Soup and their Beef Satay and Prawns on Vermicelli with Spring Rolls. Everyone I know loves their pork dishes, and their Beef Satay salad rolls are supposed to be good too. In fact, I think everything they serve is delicious. We're ordering it to our office again on Monday and I'm already salivating just thinking about it!"
