July 2009 — "Kokopelli's is located at the intersection of Continental and Whitehouse Canyon Drive. It is a tiny space with two tables and a couple of couches. They make their own gelato and calzones. (Like a big homemade, crusty bun stuffed with a variety of things.) I opted for the Pepperoni and Ricotta cheese calzone. It was tasty! Other offerings were gelato shakes, sundaes, banana splits, smoothies and a chicken salad sandwich. I loved the fact that they were set up for travelers to charge their laptops or anything else that was running low on power. I nursed my coffee and wrote this review in the relaxing atmosphere. On the down side, the freezer motors make quite a noise when they come on, and the sound can be somewhat annoying. Luckily, they only come on once in a while. By the way, Green Valley is the access to Madera Canyon, a bird watchers paradise. Rustic camping and well-equipped Lodges are available. If you travel the 12 miles up to the canyon, check out the bird feeders at Santa Rita Lodge. (Open to the public for free) It's like Grand Central Station for birds. "
