June 2009 — "The Smokehouse Diner does not make a good first impression. But if you can get past the dingy exterior, through the front door, well... you will find an equally dingy interior. Decorated with faded newspaper clippings and tacky souvenirs collected on family vacations, you can at the very least appreciate the love that goes into this business. The Smokehouse Diner is a one man show. Service, cooking and clean up are all taken care of by one man who deserves a standing ovation for the speed and accuracy at which he performs. The menu selection is nothing out of the ordinary, sandwiches, burgers, and all day breakfast. I ordered the breakfast club (mayo lettuce, tomato, egg, bacon, ham and cheese), served with home fries (chunky hash browns). The food was fresh, not at all greasy and my coffee cup was never empty. The service was fast and friendly, and for less than ten dollars for a full breakfast, it really can't be beat. I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good food at a great price. "
