June 2009 — "While driving over the Malahat pass coming from Victoria, we decided to stop at the Malahat Mountain Inn Restaurant for a quick lunch. We were quickly greeted by the friendly staff and seated at a table with a view looking down to the ocean. The dining room has very high ceilings and tall windows which offer outstanding views from anywhere inside the room. The walls are decorated with old, interesting photographs. Overall, the restaurant is very clean and comfortable. I ordered the croissant deli sandwich which had ham, swiss cheese, tomato, avocado and sprouts. It was absolutely delicious and tasted very fresh. The price of the sandwich was a bit expensive (about $15) but I don't mind paying that if the meal is worth it. The beverages were average cost though and also tasty. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Just be careful getting back on the highway when leaving this property!"

May 2009 — "This is a lovely spot to stop and smell the roses and take in the fabulous view that awaits you. We have driven past this place many times with the thought that some day we would have to stop in. We were quite thrilled that we finally did. On entering you notice how massive the dining room is and staff that greeted us were friendly and gave us a wonderful table by one of the many huge picture windows. At first it was difficult looking away from the view to check out the short but varied menu. It was explained to us that the chef chooses the freshest local ingredients and that often makes different menu choices. I chose the featured ham and swiss cheese on a delicious and flaky croissant. The fresh green salad was lovely. My dining partner decided on the corned beef on rye with sauerkraut. He said it was delicious and filling. There's no doubt we will be back here soon. "

Dishes at this award-winning restaurant include baby bake ribs, char grilled gorgonzola rib eye, and scallop and prawn linguini. They are open for Sunday brunch, and an outdoor patio with views is available in the summer.
