May 2010 — "We booked a reservation for Mother's Day and upon arrival at our booked time, saw that the restaurant was completely over capacity. There was a table for six being saved for the party of eight who came in behind us. Since there is no actual entry way except for a tiny carpet we had to practically stand over people while they were eating to wait for some kind of service. There were about 5 staff members who would frantically pass by us in a hurry to get waiting customers food and drinks but we were never dealt with. When a waitress finally did go look at her schedule she was in a tizzy because she knew there was no space for us. Instead of figuring out a solution she left us standing there. Meanwhile another fifteen people were trying to enter the restaurant. At this point we decided to leave and go else where. Very hard to do on Mother's Day with no reservation. Not only is does this place have the worst service I have ever seen, but it's an extreme fire hazard. "

December 2009 — "Tucked away in a small strip mall in northeast Calgary, the Green Olive is a hidden gem.
The chef has a way with sauces. Everything from the salmon and veal dishes to the numerous pasta specialities is uniformly excellent. The salmon, veal and chicken entrees are accompanied by roast potatoes, fried breaded zucchini and steamed carrots. The wonderfully diverse pasta dishes can be ordered in full or half portions and are accompanied by garlic bread. Meal sized thin crust pizzas are also available.
The prices are extremely reasonable and the servers are friendly and attentive. The ambience is pleasant and relaxed. If you like Italian food with a few unique twists at prices that won't strain your wallet, the Green Oive is a restaurant I heartily recommend.

May 2009 — "The fresh pasta dishes are great. This is the second time i have been here and enjoyed it both times. This restaurant is kind of a gem in the NE of the city. I not sure if that many people know about this restaurant because it is never that busy. Compared to another restaurant in which i don't think I can mention.(This place there are no reservations, just first come first serve) I have never had a problem reserving a table at the Green Olive.
I was totally surprised how great the food was. It felt like eating at an expensive restaurant. I could easily pay more money for those dishes I ordered.
I absolutely recommend this restaurant. It has great food and the service was very adequate. Small enough place that you do not feel neglected."
