January 2012 — "A few friends and I decided to go to Schanks to watch the Sunday NFL championship games on the big screen. The venue is huge, and so was the screen. Unfortunately the first tragic flaw was the fact that the bar didn't think that having sound associated with the game was necessary and it made knowing what calls the refs were making very difficult -- in all honesty I would have preferred having to talk louder to my friends just so I could actually hear the key points in the game. We spent a good 8 hours there, it was all day football afterall but over that period of time our waitress never got any better. I ordered a chicken sandwich sometime around 6 for dinner and an hour and a half later I still hadn't received my food. I finally asked the waitress where my order was and she indicated that she had forgotten to place it. Not only did I have to wait another 30 minutes or so to eat after that but my friends were finished their food well before mine even came. Additionally it seemed like a struggle for her to remember to clear empties off of our table on a regular basis. When our bill finally came it was nice that our server made a point of not charging me the meal I seemed to wait an eon for but the drink prices were all incorrect and not in accordance to the special prices indicated on the table advert. I wouldn't recommend the location for a pub night out but if you were interested in doing some of their activities I think it could be more enjoyable."

December 2011 — "I've been here a few times, most recently for the birthday party of a friend. Schanks is basically a huge sports bar (like, huuuuuuge) with way too many TVs and lots of activities like mini golf, bowling, etc. It's supposed to be a sort of adults playground but it's not really all that fun, from my experience.
Here's a basic overview -- they have over-priced drinks (mostly beer, but you can get wine and mixed drinks too,) waitresses who are great conversationalists and manage to ignore you for long amounts of time (I had to start going to the bar for drinks after waiting for 40 minutes,) and lots of deep-fried food on the menu that isn't bad but isn't great either.
But if you do get into some of the activities, or if you enjoy having the game played on 50 different screens, this is a good place to go. It's also a good place to get groups together because there's more to do than just drink. "

December 2010 — "I went to Schanks north with a group of friends for a buddy's 30th birthday recently and it was a really fun venue for a party.
The pub is huge with lots of seating. It was quite busy but didn't seem crowded as it is so big. Our server was very friendly and quick with drinks. Plus, she was happy to separate and keep track of everyone's tabs, which is a lot of extra work.
They don't have many choices of beers on tap but there's a much bigger choice of bottled beers, along with wines and spirits. We shared a Schanks platter which included a bunch of different appetizers including wings, spinach and artichoke dip, crusted shrimp, veggies, chips and a variety of dips. All of the food I tried was tasty and it was the perfect platter to share with meat and veggie options.
We also enjoyed the many activities on offer including mini-golf and video games. It was fun to be able to play some games while we celebrated. "

Schanks is more than just a sports bar, offering a multitude of sporting options such as mini golf, virtual golf, billiards, video games, NTN trivia, and off track betting. Great for Corporate parties and team building events.
