June 2011 — "We visited O Shima on a Saturday night. At the time of our arrival, there was one other table occupied. It was clearly not busy at all. I could only see one server on duty and one chef behind the bar. I noticed that the area beside women's washroom is a little smelly. I definitely do not wish to sit at those tables near the washroom. Our server was really nice. He would respond with "Of course" or "Absolutely" whenever we made a request. Our table of six ordered some green tea, 8 rolls, a chirashi don, nabeyaki udon, a zaru soba and a nabeyaki don. The katsu don took the longest to serve. We waited for the katsu don for at least 40 minutes. It was good that the rolls had come out well before the katsu don did but we would appreciate our meals to all arrive on time (together). Our server apologized for the delay and we could tell it was sincere. The katsu don was flavorful and tasty. The chirashi don was not so good. The sashimi they used over the sushi rice was low grade and texture was not good. Octopus was too chewy. What I don't understand is, how come it wasn't busy at all. It was a Saturday night dinner time. I guess they anticipated the volume and only had one chef on duty and one server."
