November 2008 — " When we checked out Crazy Jake's, it was at its peak hour, 6:00 on a Friday evening. Despite nabbing a parking spot right out front, we were informed that we were in for a half an hour wait for a table. Crazy Jake's is the hot spot in North Tonawanda on a Friday night. The enclosed patio was bustling suggesting happy hour is just as popular as the restaurant. The inside bar was just as crowded and makes up a third of the restaurant. With no separation between the bar and the dining area, a row of tables, literally, abuts the standing patrons. The diners could have easily shared their conversations with the bar crowd. We were seated in a row against the opposite wall and it was not a problem. For us, our issue was the level of crowd noise. Quiet dinner conversation was difficult. We ordered standard fare. K had the fish fry and D had ribs. The fiish was fine and the ribs were good with thick, sticky sauce. The prices were reasonable. There were several other items on the menu more unique to the restaurant. The service was satisfactory and kept pace with the busy crowd. If you enjoy being in the middle of a popular place and don't mind having to shout to be heard at the dinner table, Crazy Jake's is the spot."
