March 2009 — "The Stony Nakota Resort is located between Calgary and Canmore, right off the TransCanada Highway. It is very new and some parts are still under construction. I went there with two of my friends after staying in Canmore. We ate in the Peaks Restaurant Inside it is decorated like an upscale restaurant with a very natural feel to it as the walls are stacked river rock. The seating is very comfortable and the lights were a bit dim to create a relaxing atmosphere. The waitress was very friendly and quick to seat us. We all had the buffet brunch with coffee and tea. I also had an orange juice. The buffet was a decent size, but we arrived about 20 minutes before they were closing and some of the salads had wilted. Our food was good. I had scrambled eggs, sausage, Caesar salad and root vegetables. There was a roast beef and ham carving station. The meet was very rare and my friend asked for it to be cooked to medium. The chef cut a piece and he then brought it to the table once it was cooked to her liking. We sat for quite a while talking and the waitress topped up our coffees and brought more waters. Our total bill was about $90.00 including tip, so $30 each. Overall, the food selection, food quality and presentation were very good, but we would go back there earlier to have more selection and fresher foods. As a side note, they take credit cards, but not debit, though there is a cash machine just down the hall. Also, there is smoking allowed in the casino area which is separated from the restaurant by a lounge so a faint smell of smoke can be detected on one side of the restaurant. "
