November 2011 — "We decided to stop in at Co Do for a quick hearty bite to eat and like usual, it never disappoints; this particular evening it was even a pleasant surprise to see that it wasn't overly busy like it usually is. We picked a table and had very prompt and efficient service. My green tea didn't taste overly great, I think the water may have been too hot and burned the tea as it tasted a bit burnt. Our noodle bowls were huge, we probably could have down without the salad rolls to start but they were just as delicious as the noodle bowls. If you are looking for a quality Vietnamese spot with quick service, good food and great price I will always reccommend Co Do!"

"Good Vietnamese"

August 2011 — "In a pinch for dinner, my family decided to have vietnamese at Co Do. Located on 17th avenue sw, there ample parking near by behind the building. When we arrived, the restaurant was not too busy. We were seated quickly. The restaurant is nothing fancy at all, but I had heard that the food was pretty good. I ordered what I typically order at most Vietnamese restaurants - the shredded pork, with spring rolls on rice vermecelli. My wife had the sate chicken soup, while my kids had their usual chicken noodle soup. We all found our food to be of very good quality. The soup bases were all tasty, and the proportions were also very good. In fact, I only needed to order one chicken noodle dish, with a side of extra noodles, which sufficed for my three kids. The service was okay, nothing great. But I find this typical of these types of restaurants. I would recommend this place as a good Vietnamese restaurant and would probably go back."

"Fantastic Pho"

May 2011 — "Co Do Vietnamese restaurant is located along Calgary's popular 17th Ave district. There are plenty of choices in this city for Vietnamese cuisine and being a fan of pho noodle soup I have tried quite a number of them. Co Do has been one of my favourites. It is yet another small family run establishment with quick service but what sets this Vietnamese restaurant apart from all the others is their pho soup. The pho sate soup at Co Do has been one of the best I have tasted and is amazingly spicy. It is especially tasty on a chilly winter day. As a result of their delicious bowl of pho this restaurant is frequently busy at all times of day and there is usually a line up at the door during the dinner hour. It is well worth the wait and highly recommended. It's a must if you crave Vietnamese pho."

"Soup is Good but Not Clean"

March 2011 — "CO DO has good food and many friends frequent the little Vietnamese place on 17th ave. I like the window tables at the front of the restaurant the best - nice and bright compared to the rest of the little space. I chose to have the Peanut Sate Chicken Soup for just under $10 for a large bowl, complete with sprouts, lime and basil. Although it was supposed to be spicy, I'd say it was really mild to medium and I added quite a bit of hot sauce to rev it up. The chicken was ok - a little bit chewy but not bad. Overall the prices are not bad and I'd recommend the place for the service as well - nice and fast and generally friendly. But the washrooms are awful. I just don't get it when a restaurant doesn't clean the bathroom well - dirt in the corners, the toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a few days, and stains on the walls...it just doesn't make a person feel like the kitchen would be much better. I hope that isn't the case - but this place would really benefit from scrubbing down the washroom (at least the women's). "

March 2011 — "Co Do is located on 17th Avenue, SW Calgary. I recommend sitting at one of the tables by the window so you can watch all the folks walk by. Prices are very good at Co Do. A big bowl of soup will run you $8.75 and many entrees are even less. I ordered the large bowl of Satay Prawn Noodle Soup, the spicy version. There were plenty of noodles, though not as many as some Vietnamese restaurants I have visited. There were also a healthy number of jumbo prawns. The best part for me, though, was the spice. Strong but not overpowering. The tea was good too. The servers were very busy. The place was filling up quickly. One server continued to interact pleasantly with customers, while one did not look at all like he was enjoying his job. Unfortunately, upon leaving I realized that the washroom was quite dirty. Hopefully this was just an oversight and not the rule. "

"Fantastic!!!"

December 2009 — "We went to this restaurant on a Wednesday evening and upon arriving it was extremely busy. We waited roughly 15 minutes for a table (which was certainly worth the wait). This restaurant is quite small, and quite busy and cramped, but that is just part of the atmosphere there. The waiter was busy but still managed to bring us water and take our order within a reasonable amount of time. Once we ordered, our food arrived within 10 minutes. it was extremely fast, fresh and hot. I had the rice vermicelli dish with the deep fried spring rolls. It was absolutely delicious. The best Vietnamese food I have ever had. The vegetables in the dish were very fresh and the spring rolls were crispy and not too oily. The food for the quality was extremely cheap. My meal was only $6.95. The establishment appeared clean with a typical type Asian décor. This is not a restaurant that I would recommend going to for a long relaxed meal, but it is certainly a restaurant that offers extremely good Vietnamese food with a faster paced environment. I will be back there again soon. "

"Great service on 17ave!!"

March 2009 — "I was told to visit this restaurant down on 17ave by a good personal friend. I must say that I’m very glad to have gone, it’s a great spot just off of 14th street and 17ave SW. Walking in you see pink walls and several professional looking glass artworks hung on the wall through-out the restaurant. Nice new ceramic floors and quality wooden tables. The service was excellent, as is in most noodle places I’ve been to; however, the kitchen in this place is lightning fast. By the time we were ready to order; the server had already been to our table three times and literally walked in the back and immediately came out carrying our appetizers. Just what you’re looking for when you walk into a place good and hungry. In the time it took to eat 2 spring rolls our soup had already found its way to the table!!! I was impressed most by the overall cleanliness of the restaurant and the level of service you get from beginning to end of your dinning experience. I would absolutely recommend any Vietnamese fan to try this place out sometime in the future!!!!!"
