February 2012 — "The Asian Buffet is located just off Macleod Trail, near Southland Drive. They have a good variety of pretty much everything. They have popular dim sum items, about 6 kinds of soup, tons of meat, rice and noodle dishes, sushi, a large dessert assortment and a salad bar. They also have a section where you put raw veggies and whatever stirfry items and sauce you want into a bowl, and a cook makes it right in front of you! I found the quality of the food to be pretty good and the most impressive thing was the large assortment of seafood. They have mussels, crab legs, prawns, scallops and a few different fish dishes. This is the kind of buffet that has something for everyone! They have about 8 types of hard ice cream that you scoop yourself as well. The service is great with lots of employees filling water and clearing tables. Great buffet all in all. At $20 a person, it's not hard to get your money's worth and then some. "

February 2012 — "On our way to have dinner somewhere else on a Friday night, my girlfriend and I got sidetracked by the Asian Buffet. Neither of us had ever heard of it. They claim to have 100 items, so we decided to check it out. We were astounded by the amount of people inside the restaurant! There must have been nearly 200 diners. The buffet was huge and had a really good assortment. They have a seafood section, soup section, regular Chinese section, some western items, a salad bar, a dessert bar and even a sushi section! For dessert, there is a cooler with about 8 different types of ice cream. It was clear that a lot of people go just to eat as much seafood as they can. The crab legs were amazing and we had quite a few. At $19.99 a person, the value is definitely there. I can’t imagine we would go to any other Chinese buffet again. The only thing I didn’t like was the sheer volume of people. It felt as though we were eating in a huge banquet hall. "

January 2012 — "When all of our favourite brunch places in Marda Loop had massive line-ups (seriously, what is this town's obsession with brunch??) my friend and I decided to check out the Asian Buffet. It wasn't as high quality a dining experience as the trendy diners offer, but what it lacked in quality it made up for in quantity. I was surprised by the huge selection of foods -- and it wasn't just asian food, there was a ton of everything there. Including a huge selection of desserts. There's no way anyone would leave that place feeling hungry ... unless of course they were counting calories.
The decor was also really neat -- they have huge Asian murals on all the walls. The service was really prompt and friendly and even though it was packed there, they had no trouble finding us a table. And while it's not as cheap as you might think, the amount of food you have in front of you makes the expense seem worth it. All in all, a pretty good dining experience -- it won't become my new regular brunch spot but I wouldn't hesitate to check it out again."

May 2009 — "Asian Buffet (appropriately named) is a great buffet for inexpensive Asian dining. I went on a Sunday afternoon with my boyfriend and was stunned by the size of the restaurant and how almost every table in the place was occupied. My first stop was the Mongolian Grill, which didn’t have as big of a selection as your typical Mongolian style restaurant but everything was fresh and of course, made to order. While I waited I helped myself to the sushi buffet which also didn’t have a huge selection but was happy to find my favorites, California and dynamite rolls. Asian buffet also has a small selection of dim sum and your typical Chinese selection: Ginger beef, sweet and sour pork, awesome salt and pepper squid and an assortment of noodles and rice. It was busy when we were there so everything was fresh and constantly being re-filled. I didn’t have any room for desert but was tempted by the ice cream bar and the assortment of bite sized cakes. Asian buffet has a little bit of everything and as far as buffet’s go the service was excellent, my glass was never empty. I found it to be a fantastic deal for the money and will definitely be back again."

March 2009 — "I took the whole family to Asian Buffet on a Thursday evening and the food really wasn't the best. The food was not fresh and tasted like left overs from lunch which was not worth the price at all!
The only part of the food that i enjoyed was the sushi and the Mongolian Grill, that was fresh and eatable. Even the dessert bar was a mess, I mean the ice-cream was hard as rock, the fried banana was soggy and the sesame balls were just not fresh.
The restaurant also has theme nights and on Thursdays its "ribs" but the ribs were dry and horrible. But apparently the other night have better food, I think Monday is senior night and they get 15% off, Tuesday is sushi and Wednesday is crab legs - something like that.
I guess we just went on the wrong day, but overall the restaurant was clean, the service was great and the decor was beautiful.
I would think twice about going back in the future.
