February 2009 — "If you're driving through Blackfalds on the 2A Highway and have a craving for hot wings I can suggest a great place to satisfy your hunger. The Covered Wagon Saloon in Blackfalds serves some of the best hot wings I've ever tasted. The pub is not the most stylishly decorated place I've ever been to. It's a mix of rustic pub and sports bar but on a cold night the place is cozy and filled with locals playing pool or watching the hockey game on the big screen TVs around the place. Our waitress was very quick and efficient and brought our drinks and menus out in record time. Appetizers were the only menu items available at that time so we settled on sharing a dozen wings for $9.95 and then had to make a decision on the sauce for them. I was really impressed with the selection - everything from Caribbean jerk to Jack Daniels for BBQ sauce selection plus the usual teriyaki and honey garlic favourites. We tried the Jack Daniels wings and they were fantastic. Big, juicy wings smothered in a really nice sauce. Next time I'll order a plate and not share!"
