January 2009 — "Confession: I was actually heading to a near by popular restaurant for dinner but the line up was too long.I had no problem getting a seat in Denny’s Diner. However, I had requested a booth without success.
I was surprised to learn that the menu includes no pasta items, not even as a side dish. So I tried the new sirloin steak dinner, choosing corn and vegetable rice pilaf for my sides. A small order of yummy hot and fresh sweet buns accompanied the dinner. Sadly, the meat was far too chewy to be enjoyable. The rice was also disappointing. Even so, I decided for some dessert. I requested the apple crisp which was not available but the server asked if she could prepare something similar, smooshing some apple pie and some vanilla ice cream and then adding the caramel. I thought her made-up version was better than the real thing which I have sampled in the past."
