August 2011 — "I think I need to return for the dinner chef's tasting course. Two friends and I went for the $25 three course lunch and it was not satisfying. The carved steak tasted like dried overcooked roast beef. I do no think this lunch was worth it. Yes, I was very full at the end of this lunch, but I would not return for it. The service was just OK. I really need to return for dinner to see what the hype is about for this restaurant. Hopefully it will make up for the lunch."

June 2011 — "My Husband and I love trying new restaurants. Rush seemed like a really neat little place from the outside and my husband was anxious to get in as he had heard alot about the food! He is a big seafood lover and his friend had recently been raving about the Lobster bisque, and that is was an absolute must try! The decor at rush is beautiful everything is attention to detail breathtaking.
The lobster bisque is for sure a must try but the entree I ordered was not. I had the Cornish game Hen. I found every bite a little too salty and actually had to send it back.
I was treated poorly after sending my dish back which dissapointed me to say the least. When I mentioned it to our server she simply said "that's the way it's supposed to be" then walked away with the dish. She didn't seem concerned to help me out or make sure I had a great meal. We did order the soufflé which was yummy, creamy, one of the best parts of the meal. We most likely won't return to this restaurant unless we're going for drinks and appies. The Lobster Bisque like I mentioned was fantastic and they do have a great drink selection. The service really ruined it for us.

May 2011 — "We visited Rush restaurant on a Monday night. It was not busy at all except for the function going on in the lounge. That didn't really impact our experience as we only stayed at the lounge for a couple of drinks before heading to the dining room for our meals.
The host team was very professional. The language they used was very professional. They were very organized in terms of reservations, table seatings, and coat checks.
While we were in the bar, we ordered a couple of drinks and a half pound of wings. One of the chicken wings had some pinkiness in the flesh and we informed the bartender. The bartender seemed more apologetic than he needed to be and said he would inform management. But nothing came through and we did not receive any feedback.
We headed to the dining room for our meals. Our server had left half way through the service because the management team told him that there were too many servers on duty for that night. However, he was nice enough to explain the situation and introduce our next server for the night to us. We ordered some baby lettuce and scallop appetizers to start. For our main entrees we ordered a duck, ahi tuna, and a lobster dish.
Because I am a health conscience eater, I dislike all heavy sauces. I found that the food served at Rush restaurant were a little bit heavy for me. The sauces were too creamy and oily. The lobster dish was supposed to be 6 to 8 oz of lobster meat but it appeared to be less than 3 oz. The portion was amazingly small compared to what it was paired with, some pumpkin raviolli. I found it amazing that they called this dish lobster when it was mostly raviolli. We let our server know that we did not enjoy the lobster dish at all and he took it off our cheque.
The other dishes were a little heavy on sauce as well. The grilled seasonal vegetables on each dish were drenches with olive oil. I do not understand why this much oil is used to cook these vegetables. I prefer the true taste of food at its purest forms and only enhance it with other ingredients such as oil or spice. I do not like original taste of food to be overpowered by added ingredients.
Overall, the service from our server and host team was amazing. They stayed very professional. The food though was a down side. I didn't find value in food at Rush today. Our dinner was very expensive for the type of food we received.

April 2010 — "Not handicap friendly! There are unavoidable steps in to the dining room
and a long walk to get to them. The food was very disappointing. The
salad was bitter, but the bisque was not bad. The halibut itself was
fine, but the "risotto" was more like green oatmeal. It was awful. The
portion sizes for the appetizer and meal were passable, but the deserts
were *tiny*. The "chocolate trio" in particular. The pecorino fries and bread were delicious at least.
The dining room is a little too small (the tables are too close
together), but otherwise it is nice. The service was excellent,
including the valet parking.
But a restaurant is all about the food, and at this price (not cheap), I
won't be going back. Too bad. I had high hopes.

November 2009 — "It seemed like this restaurant was constantly coming up in our conversations and our curiosity was too much to handle. On an occasion where a friend came down to Calgary, we went on the fly as a birthday/hang out dinner. I must say, I was very impressed. The service was top notch and the food was yum yum! Well, it was probably better than what I had expected AND I got to try something different. They also have a system of water that is unlike any other in the city, giving you the option of sparkling and still water. The one complaint that I have is even with my full meal sized pasta, it truly made me crave for more and the price can definitely be classified on the higher end. Our dinner began with a variety of freshly baked breads and then came our main course. I ordered the meal sized black squid ink pasta, my friends had the fois gras and a specially made halibut that suite her allergy needs. The servers were very accommodating and pleasant. As a parting gift, we were also each given a bag of homemade granola, which was very tasty. I await the next visit. "
