March 2012 — "On a matter of convenience, we decided to have lunch at Spiros restaurant which was located near a client's office. I have grown up in Calgary and have driven by this restaurant at least a hundred times, but never ventured to eat there. Finally, we opportunity arose and we made reservations to try it out. Upon entering the restaurant, I couldn't help but feel at ease in the "homie" environment. We were attended to quickly and our drink orders were also taken. Being in a greek restaurant I felt it incumbent on me to order some kind of lamb. Concidently, the special of the day was a roasted lamb wrap. The food was excellent, the lamb was tasty and tender. My side dish consisted of roasted potatoes. The special was approximately $14.00 and well worth the price. I definitely recommend this establishment for great Greek food. Now I also understand why this restaurant has been in existence for so long. "

September 2010 — "I Think the downside to Spiros is the size. Its sooo tiny and has several tables just squished together. I think they would benefit from finding a bigger location that could meet their growing needs and demands. Beyond that Spiros is an amazing Greek restaurant. Famously known for their beautiful divine pizzas!
Wait times for tables and food can take awhile but it is worth the wait. Not q quick fix. Go with a group of people and expect to be there for the evening. It is worth the exp of the restaurant, and the food for sure. My husband and I have gone a number of times and keep coming back for the pizza. It is a little bit pricey, but you are getting what you pay for. And their original pizzas are soo good you cannot get anything like this anywhere else, and we've tried! Loaded with toppings, that simply one piece can fill you up entirely. Spiros will leave you satisfied. And wanting more!!!!
Make sure to book a table, especially with a group or you will wait hrs for a table. The employees are friendly as always and you will find yourself steeping into Greece as you enter the doors. Love it. Simply love it. Take your special someone out for something special for a night you wont forget. "

"Lovely Greek Charm"

March 2010 — "Spiros has a lovely sunny room in which to sit, or one can sit in a darker area; it’s nice to have a choice. I enjoyed the brighter of the two and spent time looking around at the interesting décor. There was a lot of bright golden yellow and the place felt entirely charming. I enjoyed Kristina’s Favourite Chicken with the Village Salad, and finished off with cheesecake and herbal tea. I learned the difference between a village salad and a Greek one; it’s the lettuce. Although I don’t remember being served a Greek salad with lettuce before, the Greek staff person assured me that if it has lettuce it is Greek, and if it does not it’s a village salad. Their feta cheese was very different as well; it looked like mozzarella, and I was informed that most places don’t serve the same type of feta. They order it especially, and I can taste their reason. My chicken was tender and the lemon and oregano marinade was wonderful. The cheesecake was average, but I enjoyed my time spent in this quaint establishment."

"Decor needs updating, but food is good"

March 2010 — "My coworkers and I went here last Friday for a nice break and extended lunch. This place is like a hole in the wall just up 17th Ave. The décor outside is very ratty but inside, I guess it best described as chic shabby. It is a Greek restaurant with a very wide range of pizza selections. We had reservations and were seated immediately. After looking at the menu we ordered two large pizzas. We ordered the Anjelika’s special and something else, I don’t remember. The Anjelika’s had feta cheese, black olives, banana peppers and pepperoni. It was very different but still very good. The second pizza that I don’t recall the name was just a typical pizza with pepperoni, green peppers. Overall, the pizzas were very light and fluffy but fresh. Not oily at all. It was excellent. There were three of us, we had two cokes and a coffee. Total price was about $60. The prices appear quite decent. I think we will come back for dinner as our neighbor’s meals were very good looking. I’m going to ask my boyfriend to come here to try out some Greek dinner. "
