November 2008 — "This restaurant is in St John’s Arcade on the upper level. We went to it for lunch because it was close to the place of work of the friends we were meeting. It is a large open area that feels more like a dining hall than a restaurant, with seating for about 70 at large and small wooden tables. The food was served from a counter at the entrance to the restaurant. There seemed to be a large choice on the menu and after a little debate I opted for the Giardinos Special, a chicken and spinach paninni. It was simply a case of then waiting for the order and carrying it on a tray to the table we were sitting at. The paninni sandwich was good, better than I expected for the look of the restaurant. My partner had a prawn and avocado salad, of which I had a little taste, it was also good and a huge portion size. I would recommend this place if you don’t have much time, but not if you’re looking for ambiance. "
