March 2011 — "Harbour City occupies a very busy street corner in Chinatown and in my opinion used to be one of the best places to go for Dim sum in the city. However, that was nearly a decade ago and I feel that the quality of this restaurant has really gone down hill. Every time I walk by they seem to be offering a “Renovation Sale – 10% off” and yet, the inside always looks exactly the same…Not really sure what they are renovating but I took a gamble and decided to try it out again for the first time in over a year. As I suspected, the inside of the restaurant looked exactly the same, maybe even worse then I remembered. It was a fairly busy Saturday afternoon, and they still use push carts to get the dimsum around the restaurant. But an hour and a half later, it was still the same 6 carts with the same food going around. I tried to order directly from the kitchen, but flagging down a waiter was hard to do. We finally got a menu, but no one ever came back to pick up our order. We eventually got tired of waiting and left. The food we did eat was tasteless, semi cold, and just not good overall. Even with the 10% discount, I regretted coming here and probably wont come back for a long time."

August 2009 — "After having supper at Harbor City, I can honestly say that I love it. I think of the many Chinese restaurants in Calgary, it certainly ranks top of my list. You can't really miss the purple building and it's in a great location. Even though it is in Chinatown, it is much cleaner than what you would expect from an Asian restaurant. There always seems to be some eager waiters and waitresses ready to take your teapot and help serve you. The food is definitely Asian, with the large proportioned dishes, enough for everyone to try and filled up to the rim. Although you are definitely paying a pretty hefty cost to get the food you get. Our dinner for 10, the normal 8 course meals came out to be around 500 dollars. My aunts thought that the food was a little salty, but it's no more salty than any other restaurant when you go out to eat. Some of the dishes in our meal included colossal shrimp with cream sauce, abalone and snow pea tip, fried crab with eggplant, shark fin soup, crab with eggplant, the end of the meal fillers - fried rice and e-fu noodles. This is definitely a restaurant worth trying and trying and trying."

The menu focuses on the traditional foods of southern China. The restaurant has a linoleum dim sum runway circling the dining room. Open daily. Dim sum daily 9 am - 3 pm.
