January 2012 — "After driving four miles, you hope to find some good food, and a relaxed atmosphere. Our experience started off confusing, as four mile has two completely unconnected sections, the restaurant, and the pub. Half of our party ended up on the pub side, as the rest wanted in the restaurant. This was not something we were advised of when making the reservation, making the confusion annoying. Seating in the restaurant, the atmosphere was lovely, and very comfortable at the same time. It was fun and relaxed to hang out in this environment. Our service was very slow, and we were constantly waiting. While some enjoyed their dishes, nobody was blown away. I ordered the tortellini and found it to be much too sweet. It was also a little pricey considering this is a casual dining area. After leaving, I'm in no rush to go back, but wouldn't turn away."

"Great Spot For Lunch "

May 2011 — "The Four Mile Road House was the perfect stop on our recent trip to Victoria. The building itself is an amazing 130 year old house, which makes it the fourth oldest house in Victoria’s history. The grounds are marvellous and the gazebo is quite lovely. We were greeted with friendly staff and were seated immediately. The menu for our lunch was varied and had many choices to choose from. I ordered the eight ounce prime rib burger with a salad. My dining mate chose the loaded baron of beef. We did not have to wait long before our delicious meals were before us. My burger was tender and cooked just right. The fresh garden green salad was very delicious, especially the sweet vinaigrette Salad dressing. My mate’s loaded beef dip was certainly loaded with Edam cheese and mushrooms. We were very satisfied with our meals and we both are looking forward to our next visit to the 4 Mile Roadhouse"

May 2010 — "The Four Mile Pub has a rich history and wonderful ambiance. We sat in the outdoor enclosed patio, sinking into huge comfy chairs. The service was excellent even though the place was very busy. The waitress even informed us that the kitchen had just received a large order, so our food could take up to twenty minutes. We were not in a rush, but appreciated her telling us. I ordered the Halibut and Chips for $13.00. I would rate the meal as average. The serving of Halibut and Chips was substantial, but the coleslaw was very sparse. My husband had a burger with Caesar salad for $12.00. He thought his meal was O.K, but nothing spectacular. The Caesar salad was small and only had two croutons. The place is reportedly haunted which is not surprising due to its lengthy history. They even post their ghost stories online. We quizzed our waitress about the ghost, but she had not seen one herself. We have been to The Four Mile Pub before and had better meals. We love the character of this place and would return again."

"Four Mile has it all"

September 2009 — "The Four Mile pub is quite the place, with 3 different restaurants or venues in one. There is a sports bar downstairs, and a pub as well as restaurant upstairs. This is obviously a bonus, as you can find a setting that will work regardless of what you are looking for. I was also happy to find this out because it means to me that food in the pub is going to be the same as the restaurant. Let's face it here, some pubs just cant cook anything but wings. We were in the sportsbar downstairs (where you would only expect wings) but it had a full menu including some more exotic choices that sounded quite good. Maybe because I was at the pub, I don't know, but for some reason I stuck to the pub fare. I ordered a reuben and was happy with the choice. You could tell that the food came from a quality kitchen with some chefs that take some pride in their work. I am going to look forward to going up the restaurant or pub and trying the rest of the menu out!"

"Old World Charm"

November 2008 — "Decided on this restaurant with a few friends, due to its convenient location in between Colwood & Victoria and parking was plentiful. It is housed within a 150 year old tudor style building which has been in operation serving guests for approximately 100 years. It had a unique relaxed old fashioned charm with stained glass leaded windows and artifacts decorating the rooms as well as antiques being hung on the walls, giving you plenty to look at. They had a restaurant which served meals as well as afternoon tea. A year round patio was also available for those who like the outdoors allowing one to enjoy the grounds which were very nicely kept. We decided to try the pub side of the restaurant which was fairly busy with both casual and business class. The beer & wine menu was extensive with plenty to choose from. Prices were reasonable and they offered drink and meal specials. The menu had everything from Appetizers, Fish & Chips ($8), Thin crust pizza ($12), Pasta & Noodle bowls ($12-$15), Burgers, ($10-$13), Baked wild plank Salmon ($17). It was hard to make a decision. My friends ordered their stuffed yorky special of the day, which was a yorkshire pudding stuffed with slices of beef topped with a pepper gravy and served with choice of salad or fries for $9. The portion was very large. I tried their french onion soup ($6) and garden salad ($6) and added chicken for an additional $4. Either the soup or the salad would have been plenty. The portions were large. It was all very tasty. The waitress was very friendly and prompt. We all enjoyed our lunch at this restaurant which had an old world charm with west coast flare. I would return for any occasion. "

October 2008 — "We decided to try out the 4 Mile because we had heard so much about it. Indeed, it was very busy and getting a table was difficult. We ended up seated just inside the door at a small table crowded in between larger tables. At first we felt a little uncomfortable but the service was so good that we got over it quickly. The menu was fairly extensive ranging from appetizers and pub style food to steaks and pasta dishes with garlic and shrimp. I ordered a salmon burger and my friend had the veggie burger. I had yam fries with my burger and they were great although I had to pay an extra 50 cents for the chipolte mayo. My burger was very good although it was probably the messiest salmon burger I have ever had. My friend said that his veggie burger was probably the best one he had ever had. The waitress said that she heard that frequently about the veggie burger. We really enjoyed our time at the 4 Mile. The waitress was very friendly and attentive and the meal was delicious. We would definitely go here again but would plan ahead and go a little earlier than 8 pm to be sure to get a table. "
